TotallyOz Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 I wanted to see the new vampire movie Twilight. I have seen it advertised and really wanted to see it and ended up at Siam Paragon for lunch yesterday. I decided to give it a try. The showing I wanted to see was at the Enigma theater at 1,000 baht a ticket. You must buy 2 in order to go. It is a members only theater with a lounge and private bathrooms. Included in the price of the ticket is appetizers and drinks. It really is a VIP treatment area. The seats are really day bed and are filled with plush pillows and blankets and it was very comfortable. I had been to the VIP theater before at Siam Paragon and they had the reclining seats that were fun and very comfortable. The Enigma is a step up for that! I loved the movie and the theater. I will defiantly go back again but not unless it is a movie I really can't see elsewhere. Siam Paragon theaters are supposed to be the largest that Thailand has with 16 screen and seats for over 5,000. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 I saw "Brokeback Mountain" in one of the larger cinemas in Paragon and vowed never to return. The problem was the airconditioning - not the temperature, but the noise. The 'hissing' sound was louder than I have heard at any other cinema in Bangkok (in fact, I don't remember ever hearing that at any other major cinema here) and it became obtrusive during the movie's quieter moments. Another issue that concerns me about some theatres is the lack of proper sound insulation. Watch a nice, quiet romantic movie and you are likely to hear quite a bit of the blockbuster next door. No doubt someone will quip I shouldn't complain as you get part of 2 movies for the price of one! Quote
Gaybutton Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 No doubt someone will quip I shouldn't complain as you get part of 2 movies for the price of one! No, no. If the theater you're in happens to be between two others, now you get part of 3 movies for the price of one. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 So that's why I could not make out which movie was playing in the next theatre. It was actually 2 movies! Quote
