Am in the midst of long awaited Rio from from Australia.

Taxi from airport to my Airbnb to ipanema was about R$130 (blue cab). I won’t recommended Airbnb its not that it is bad it’s just that after booking got a list of lots of rules and warnings about guests and a specific don’t bring prositutes into your room!! Anyway I have noticed a big increase in the amount of Airbnb listing, where it's clearly stated to don't bring visitors inside. 

Dunno how much it's enforced. Until I was staying in a hotel in Rio, I was just walking straight forward to the lift with the GP and no one has ever asked me anything.

 Before booking the AirBnB, check the house rules for things that may not work for you (guests are not allowed or have to be approved in advance or registered, guests are limited in number, no overnight guests, etc.).

Just to confirm the policy, even if it isn’t listed, I usually send a message before booking to the host. Something like, “I plan to have a local friend or two visit me at the apartment while I am there. My friends are male. Is that fine?” If the host response is favorable, then it’s a go.

Also, it seems by the OP’s comment that he may have been renting a private room in a host-occupied apartment or house. I would think that bringing guests back to rooms would be a lot more restricted or banned than it is when renting the entire place. If anything, it would be very awkward for all parties involved.

Thanks for the report. I have learned so much about another rental company, VRBO. They make these grand statements about how they will help if a problem arises, but read the contract. None of that language is in the contract. They are notorious for leaving renters stranded. Don't trust VRBO.

I do not particularly mind the video reliance and I am surprised by how accepting they are of the poor porn quality. But quite a few big hot straight guys do not seem to focus on it in missionary. In quarto, their gaze is hard to discern.

Some of them do take a PDE5 inhibitor, with or without looking at the erotica to enhance erectile capability. It is not a cut and dry solution. Firstly apologies for typos in earlier post. Re the Airbnb I only got list of rules after booking (or maybe I didn’t look properly at listing!) but I’m any case I had opportunity to cancel but decided best not be tempted and leave hookups to the sauna. 

I am just back from 117 again (Sunday eve). I started the night around 4ish at point 202 there was just a handful of guys at this times max 7. I decided to get a massage to start with. I havent had any trouble with AirBNB options as long as I ask ahead of time (before books) about a local friend coming over for dinner etc. The bigger question for you should be how much you trust your GP, or make sure that you keep valuables locked or very hidden.

If it is important to you (it probably should be), find out in advance if the apartment has a safe for small valuables. Some do, some do not. Most that I have rented did advertise a safe. Ask in advance before booking.

Back in Rio today after a few days in buzios. I first went to check out the new sauna Manhattan Rio at around 7. It was really dead in terms of garoto and clients. The boys were not my type but i have one program with you guy (very average ). I then jumped into cab to go back to 117. I’m relatively inexperienced st all this but I am fast coming to the conclusion that I should just focus on 117 it always seems to be guaranteed fun. Given it was Good Friday 117 wasn’t that busy (some of the garoto were complaining) but still much bigger crowd and high standard of guys in my opinion.

Should have added regarding the rooms at Manhattan Rio’s the beds are quite small and whilst there was a spa bath in my room the water was cold! I preferred the rooms at pointe and 117 personally.

It is quite easy also to do Manhattan Rios and 117 etc in the same evening as they are a short uber ride from each other. I must say under works incredibly well in Rio and is really well priced in my opinion and not speaking Portuguese is easy to put in address rather than trying to explain to a cab driver. 

the area around Manhattan Rios felt quite safe there weren’t many people around as Good Friday and is in centro but it didn’t feel menacing or anything.

It is about 4 km to MR, owing to required backtracking on some streets that have unidirectional portions. About 2 km back to Clube117. About 1.5 km by foot, a mile on the nose. Über drivers get the minimum fare, about 7-8 reais, decent given the short distance, and hella cheap for us. 

So no soak'n'poke likely in the cards. I do not belong to the Polar Bear Club ... and not a bear. Not surprised because the venue would need enormous hot-water tank capacity and may also have collective reservoir sharing with the remainder of the huge building complex. Whereas the other 3 clubs are stand-alone lowrise structures. Though there may technically be some capacity as somebody previously went to the the expense of installation of hydromassage installation. Can you switch the unit on, ie, is the current working?

Any feedback on the love bench/chair feature in the suite? Those existed in the former bordello. And what about mirror features? What can you see reflected back? Flat, panorama?

Thanks for reminder despite the not so great session the mirrors were a great feature! In the room I was in there  was Murrow in ceiling and the bed was pushed up again wall which also had a mirror so some great angles to be had! I should have mentioned that for the second part of the trip instayed at arena hotel in ipanema. It’s a nice modern hotel with rooftop pool.

i had one guy to the room without issue. He was from netgay Oliver santos is his stage name so to speak. He is actually from SP and was planning to see him there but he was in Rio by chance. Very very nice body and nice guy and more upscale that sauna guys (for want of a better world).
