Members Lucky Posted March 19, 2018 Members Posted March 19, 2018 Love, Simon is a charming movie where a straight actor pretends to be gay in high school. He struggles with coming out, and when it does happen, it is nothing like he expected. This is a feel good movie about a gay leading character by a major studio. The gay character does not die in the end. I liked the movie, but cute Nick Robinson does not have a gay vibe about him. I suppose that if they made the same movie starring a dorky gay guy it wouldn't sell, so I should be thankful that Nick took the role. The audience over the weekend was 58% female, according to Variety. Response to Love, Simon has been quite positive. TotallyOz 1 Quote
AdamSmith Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Agree wholly. A perspective, presented in the film, from 20+ years ago in our cultural history. Kids today are totally connected to themselves. Quote
Members Riobard Posted March 24, 2018 Members Posted March 24, 2018 I have always had a thing for Josh Duhamel. Now greying a little. Mm mm mm. Enjoyed the clever plot twists and turns and surprise ending. Quote
Members Lucky Posted March 24, 2018 Author Members Posted March 24, 2018 I learned today that the love interest, Bram, is actually gay for real. He's cute too. What a bonus! http://enewspaper.latimes.com/infinity/article_share.aspx?guid=cbaae29c-66b2-4025-984a-e3ffd9ec463b paborn and TotallyOz 2 Quote
Members Riobard Posted March 25, 2018 Members Posted March 25, 2018 But there are a few love interest candidates and the viewer is left hanging, like in the final ferris wheel scene, as to the ID of the anon gay poster. Quote

Wasn't that part of the fun? For a while, I wondered if Blue would be a woman. I was quite satisfied with the final one! His smile could light up a room. Sorry if I spoiled it for anyone planning still to see the movie. Riobard 1 Quote
Members OneFinger Posted April 2, 2018 Members Posted April 2, 2018 Saw this movie yesterday. I totally loved this move (as did my family). But, I have to agree with Lucky that Simon didn't tweak my gaydar at all. He did a good job to but the sparkle wasn't there. Lucky 1 Quote

I agree that Nick does not have a gay vibe about him and your comment has stayed with me. But the more I think of it I think his lack of gay vibe was perfect for the movie. Or, at least, more preferable than someone obviously gay or worse, stereo-typically gay. Box office seemed to peter out a little to soon. Quote
Members Lucky Posted April 23, 2018 Author Members Posted April 23, 2018 I agree that it may have been necessary to get those screaming teen girls in to see it. Quote
TotallyOz Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Loved this movie from start to finish. Loved the story and the actors. I wasn't sure who "blue" was the entire time and I liked the directors cutting in and out of Simon's brain. Thanks for the recommendation! Quote

TotallyOz Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 The ITunes Extra had a cut scene with Colton Hayes and Simon in a gay bar. I liked the scene as I adore Colton. I wish it had been part of the show. Quote
Members boiworship Posted June 2, 2018 Members Posted June 2, 2018 It’s available for rent on iTunes later this month. I love Nick. Too bad he’s straight. He’s exactly my type. 6’2 and gorgeous. TotallyOz 1 Quote
Members OneFinger Posted June 5, 2018 Members Posted June 5, 2018 On 31 May the site Hollywood Xposed posted a nude picture of Nick Robinson who played the role of Simon. Doesn't look like a fake or photoshop to me. He's fully hard with a nice uncut cock. TotallyOz 1 Quote

Or just cute boy stars? Nick Robinson sure is easy on the eyes. He has that air of sincerity surrounding his beauty that teen um, girls, can easily buy into. Quote
Members boiworship Posted January 8, 2019 Members Posted January 8, 2019 I love the cute stars, of course. Some of the actors were also in 13 Reasons Why. Quote
