 A gay couple from San Diego was arrested when leaving the country after posting pictures of themselves at the Temple of Dawn on Instagram. The pictures showed them baring their butts in the sacred place:

The Thai people have been outraged over this. It’s been in all the papers and tv.   Just waiting now to see punishment. Most think a fine.

Doing business anywhere in East Asia (really anywhere, for that matter) requires some learning of local custom, and how to respect and follow it.

Temples  in Thailand are religious symbols and in many you must wear certain clothes to enter. To do what they did is shameful and disrespectful.  There is even a sign leaving the airport that talks about how the Buddha is not a collectable but a symbol for the Thai people.  When in Rome.....
