Do’s and Don’t in Thailand

Well, if they only use the spoon from a common bowl and they never use a fork, just how do they eat? Just joking, Bob.

All I have ever seen is Thais use a spoon to eat their food. The fork is used to push food onto spoon as necessary. And those I know have no idea how to use chop sticks.

But when eating farang food the bf does use a fork and knife same as a farang, almost! Like a farang using chopsticks.

And do not use your foot to touch Thai money! Once I dropped some coins on the floor and was using my foot to sweep them into a pile. The bf was quite upset. Never do that in public he said to me. The people box you!

Ohhh for god sake......they can pick their nose in public but not blow it??? You have to love this sort of customs wierdness from country to country, hahahaha

I understand the feet on the money as its the kings picture and feet are dirty....makes sense......

Stepping on someone’s foot is a really big insult, way above the category of knives, forks, and touching kids on the head.

Of course sometimes it happens accidentally; everyone, Thais included, understands this. Boarding an occupied songteow without stepping on a foot can be a real challenge.

If you do step on a Thai’s foot, even slightly, your apology must be profuse, and profound, making it obvious that you are truly concerned. Then the stepee will smile and there will be no problem.

On the other hand, if you want some real excitement in your life make it obvious you are stepping on a Thai’s foot intentionally.

I'll give you a better one than that. Many of them will actually pick somebody else's nose!

F-ing you have got to be kidding me! Seriously! Hahahahaha, I couldn't watch that....I'd have to leave and go somewhere else......

"Or pick lice from the head of another person with tweezers."

Well, as long as they don't eat them like our furry friends do, I could live with this one, hehehehehe........

The furry little friends are actually picking the salt to eat.
