Members torogen Posted October 28, 2017 Members Posted October 28, 2017 I have a week off coming up in a few weeks, and I would like to explore a new destination. I have visited Brazil and Costa Rica and some parts of Mexico (Puerto Vallarta and the northern part of Mexico, never Guadalajara, Mexico City, Merida, or any part of the Yucatan peninsula), but I would like to try a new place that offers cheap flights from the US. So that rules out Brazil and Argentina. I'm amazed how much cheaper it is to fly to some of the other cities like Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, and Lima ($125-$300 each way, vs. $1000+ to Rio and Buenos Aires). I was planning to go to Cuba, but it is hard to find info about the recovery from their recent hurricane, so I figured it would be best to put it off for a while... I would love to hear any ideas. I am currently a student, so I can't afford anything too extravagant in terms of flight or lodging. I like beaches and cocktails and cute guys. I love Rio because it offers all three, but I'm planning a trip there in the new year, and can't afford to go twice. Thanks in advance for anyone who can offer any advice! Quote
floridarob Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 Monterrey Mexico has a lot of options, except for the beaches. Sex club, sauna, house of guys, discos.....I always have fun in Mexico city and Playa del Carmen has beach, lots of decent restaurants (just too many gringos, lol) There is a strip club off the beaten path that is fun, strippers get down to nude...https://www.facebook.com/LaCuevaPlaya/ torogen 1 Quote

I often go to Puerto Vallarta, and I am excited to explore the other parts of Mexico. I haven't really considered Monterrey, but I will look into it. I'm interested in Mexico City as well. I'm assuming such a large city must have some beautiful guys. Quote
Members Darkseraphim Posted October 30, 2017 Members Posted October 30, 2017 @floridarob: I'll be heading to Monterrey for a week in November. I really like strip bars/clubs, or at least a good Go-go show, are there any good spots that you would recommend? Quote
Members torogen Posted October 31, 2017 Author Members Posted October 31, 2017 I changed my mind and decided to try Havana anyway. I did a lot of research, and it says most of the city is back in operation. I look forward to it. Quote

Members Darkseraphim Posted October 31, 2017 Members Posted October 31, 2017 @floridarob: Thank you! I really value the experience that members of this site bring to bear. No one here has to post, report or assist but, many do anyway. I do a lot of my own research but , as I have learned from a few years of travel "the google map is not the territory". http://bit.ly/2yZI1Dk Quote

Because I have always wanted to go, and there are many reports here and elsewhere of people loving it. But mostly it's because it is still easier to go, and it may be more difficult again soon due to Trump's attempts to undo Obama's opening of the borders. Quote
