Members Tartegogo Posted October 16, 2017 Members Posted October 16, 2017 The several amazingly informative threads on this forum about saunas in Brazil have convinced me to take the plunge and go find out if it is real! I am going to do 2 weeks in Brazil (SP and Rio) + Montevideo and Buenos Aires, and I don’t want to be the newbie that gets screwed over the prices because he doesn’t know. Unfortunately I haven’t found a recent update on prices in those threads, apologies if I have missed them. So here are the price ranges that I would like to know, for 2017: price for a quicky in a Brazilian sauna: ? price per hour if I bring back the guy to my Brazilian hotel: ? R$ is there a standard overnight price in Brazil? R$ Brazil hotel guest fee (in case I can’t wiggle out of it): ? R$ price for a quicky in a Montevideo sauna: ? $U price per hour if I bring back the guy to my hotel in Montevideo: ? $U price for a quicky in a BA sauna: ?AR$ price per hour if I bring back the guy to my hotel in BA: ? AR$ I would prefer if you use local currency. I know some of the guys will be cheaper than others,, but I just want to make sure I know what kind of price should be answered by “No.” I would be very thankful if you guys who are there regularly could let us know. Take care. Quote

Members msclelovr Posted October 24, 2017 Members Posted October 24, 2017 I can answer the questions about Buenos Aires and Uruguay, with the caveat that I last visited in 2012. Inflation has been high since then. The saunas in Buenos Aires (Bs As) are NOTHING like those in Brazil. In Bs As you may meet attractive young men or closeted older men but they are there to play for free with men they find attractive. There are some sex-cinemas and you will occasionally find guys there who are service-providers looking to earn some cash. In general, it's advisable NOT to take a guy to your hotel-room unless you know them very well. The crime rate in Bs As is very high. Anyone you bring to your hotel will need to show their ID and be registered at reception. There are 'telos' which rent rooms by the hour - several in Recoleta - and I was never asked for ID there; they are well-kept and do not discriminate against gay men. Another cautionary note is to check the age (shown on their ID card) if a young man interests you. I've been propositioned by fit young men claiming to be 18-20 tho they were as young as 15 and 16. I've no interest in under-age sex and was glad I checked their ID as the penalty for such sexual relations is very severe; you would not want to spend any time in an Argentine jail. As to price, it all depends. The young guys on the street asked very little (the equivalent of US$20-30). It seems rather important that you treat the local working guys respectfully and then the rates are very low. Equally I've seen a rude visitor rejected firmly by a working guy. Locals who are middle-class, goodlooking with fit bodies may have a high opinion of themselves so you have to be discreet in picking up at the gym. That said, I'm an older man in good shape who dresses smartly - such things matter in Argentina and Uruguay - and I had no problem meeting (mainly in the local gyms) handsome young men with nicely muscled bodies. I had sex for free quite readily but of course I paid for the 'telo' and for drinks and dinner afterwards. I also met and played with some well-brought up preppy guys whom I took to the theatre or clothes-shopping. I also dated a local heart-throb, a real looker with a great body; when he spent the nights with me at my hotel I gave him US$100 for the 'taxi fare' home each morning. I'm not aware of any saunas in Montevideo. I spent most of my time outside the capital, at the beach resorts in Punta del Este. I was advised to 'import' a nice guy for company and I did invite a blond muscleboy from Bs As; he was happy to look after me as I paid for his airfare, the hotel and all meals. Members tassojunior Posted October 24, 2017 Members Posted October 24, 2017 In spite of the code for the airport, BA is not EZE. It's rather difficult to find rentboys. Nothing like Brazil at all. I visited a couple of saunas with exceptionally attractive young guys but zero for rent. Zoom has very attractive guys and cubicles but no rent. There is one very old gay bar in a basement off Santa Fe that is supposed to be a rentboy bar. Historic in that it was even open during the junta times. But, again, no apparent rent available several nights I went. BA is one place it's best to arrange guys online prior to leaving. At least one or two for an introduction to others. Tartegogo 1 Quote
Members Tartegogo Posted October 24, 2017 Author Members Posted October 24, 2017 Thank you both to @msclelovr and @tassojunior for your replies, much appreciated. To arrange online line prior to leaving, is RentMen the best place, or is there a local site that is better provided with boys? (I especially like smooth bottom boys in case that matters for where to find them) tassojunior 1 Quote

Don't be afraid to ask politely. They say around the Retiro train station is active but I worked it well to no avail. I just assume anything on Rentmen is a scam or hustle of some sort. Usually the guy being much older and out of shape. Sometimes worse. Quote

The rent boys are in Lavalle street and in Santa Fe Avenue. As @msclelovr said, you have to be very careful because there is a lot of crime and many underage hustlers, but they are abundant and very cheap. The bar in the basement is called Contramano and it is the senior (and seniors') gay bar in Buenos Aires. It has never been an escorts bar, but a venue with a crowd older in average than other places. During my last years in Buenos Aires, when I was in my 30s, I was very successful picking up very young guys there, besides the United Airlines flight attendants that I would often meet there. Perhaps some of the guys I was hooking up with for free would charge to older guys, I do not know. But in the local gay culture the place was never considered a hookers bar, but and older gentlemen' gathering venue. It is not located on Santa Fe but on Rodriguez Peña, a few meters from Santa Fe. It is not just a basement, about 20 years ago they expanded with a more modern three floors wing. In my last visits I did not go there because I am not willing to switch to the crazy night life times of the locals. Going to the place before 2 AM is pointless, and it is not an after-hours, 2 AM is the time when porteños go out, after a late diner. I did explore the porn movie theaters (a big one called ABC, but I think it was closed), the street cruising (still abundant although not as much as 20 years ago), and of course www.soytuyo.com. You probably have seen my earlier post recommending Joel. Tartegogo and tassojunior 2 Quote

I will be back down there in July. The city is amazing, I lived there for about 20 years before moving to DC. Hopefully, I will meet Louis Ricaute. tassojunior 1 Quote

My Spanish is terrible, but with some preparation, I should be ok. Ill probably skip the street hires for my first time, especially since those streets you call Lava,e and Santa Fe are hugely long on the map. Check my review of Joel, if you are looking for a passionate dick lover and bottom, although he is not big on kissing. He may be in Cordoba city and not in Buenos Aires. You will love the city. 4 hours ago, Tartegogo said: Thanks! I have just discovered soytuyo! Amazing guys if the pictures are real. My Spanish is terrible, but with some preparation, I should be ok. Ill probably skip the street hires for my first time, especially since those streets you call Lava,e and Santa Fe are hugely long on the map. I have no idea how you guess which part you should be looking. That's wise; unless you spoke good Spanish, I'd steer very clear of street-trade. There is one particular section of Lavalle and Santa Fe where they're seen but only after midnight. As a foreigner, you will stand out. This can be very useful and I found it was surprisingly easy to pick up guys on the street and in the gym. Young Argentines often socialise in the ritzier malls and at the gym. If, like me, you prefer good-looking and nicely muscled young men 21-30, I'd suggest you join a gym with a day-pass. Smart gyms, such as Megatlon, located in upmarket shopping malls have quite a few young gay men as members. Basically if you want a guy who's 'hot' and a 'looker', I suggest you dress well, smile and discreetly offer to take a guy you encounter for a drink or coffee. If he's interested, he'll understand. Be prepared to be generous and pick up the dinner-check and you may not even have to pay him. Apart from soytuyo mentioned by @Latbear4blk there is also www.revistaratones.com (Also, there's a local online forum for discussing escorts but you need very good Spanish to follow the reviews and discussions) As for the longstanding gay bar, Contramano, the hours and location are correct. It has strippers and customers are aged 30-70 mainly. I went once and was propositioned there by a young guy aged 20+: he wasn't an escort; he was seeking an older man to look after him. On my visit, a local customer in his 30s was celebrating his birthday and when the completely nude stripper found out, he used his hard cock to forcibly throat-fuck the customer in the middle of the club. There are other gay bars and a gay restaurant in the area of Palermo. @tassojunior mentioned the Retiro train and bus station. I know that years ago there was some action at the train station restrooms but it's very much 'at your own risk'. And you'd better keep some money (ARP 200-300) separate and ready to hand over to any policeman who intervenes. There is a large informal settlement (known locally as Villa 31 or something) near the rail-tracks and there are many street-robberies and bag-snatchings in the vicinity. And as another instance of how Argentina is truly a different country, I heard some years ago of how parents sent out their handsome 15/16 year old sons to the station restrooms to service older men. The idea was not to earn money from a casual encounter but rather for the son to develop a relationship with a well-off older man. The parents then would threaten to denounce the man to the police but their silence and acquiescence could be 'bought'. tassojunior and Latbear4blk 2 Quote

Lol, I have been naughty and changed my hotel to one that is one block from that Lavalle location. It is also cheaper, and on paper it looks better than the other one I had booked. So so now if I can’t sleep after midnight, I’ll be able to just walk out and checkout the merchandise:-) if I ever don’t get enough from those websites, I promise you guys I will check ids. I’ll get my guests checked in at my hotel anyway. My room will have a safe So basically for a street hire It should be 500 ARS each time (plus all other expenses on the way like meals, drinks, taxis) and for a website guy coming to do a hotel visit, it is more like 1,400 ARS? Members Latbear4blk Posted October 25, 2017 Members Posted October 25, 2017 I cannot really speak of prices, as I can pass as a local folk. I am confident there is a double prices list, one for locals and one for foreigners, and by foreigner I mean American or European guys. I agree with @msclelovr, if you do not know the local codes and you cannot pass for a local, do not try street hustlers. You can go to the porn movie theaters instead, do not take much money with you and do not take the guys to your hotel. Just play there, there is a good chance you will not have to pay if you are average attractive. Absolutely avoid train stations and public bathrooms. A lot of fun is happening there, but even for locals it is very risky. The tip about gyms is good. I was a member of Megatlon and have sex several times in the bathroom, always with young hot guys (I like athletic/muscular guys 18 to 25 when they are not Black). Megatlon (I wonder if still exists) best location for cruising and playing was the one in Rodriguez Peña, almost next door to Contramano. I am getting nostalgic. Quote
Members Latbear4blk Posted October 25, 2017 Members Posted October 25, 2017 One more thing I was forgetting. @msclelovr is also correct (it is so nice to find some one knowledgeable of sinful Buenos Aires!) about the existence of a discussion forum online: http://www.escortsxp.com/foro/search?search_type=1&contenttype=vBForum_Post However, do not waste your time. It does not provide the quality service you can find in here or at Daddy's; many of the users are escorts in disguise, and the level of the conversations is not higher than a group of middle school girls talking about high school boys. If you are looking just for sex and mindless fun , Brazil is the unquestionable options. Argentine culture is more pretentious and solemn than Brazil's. Brazil is the main touristic destination for Argentines looking for fun. If you are looking for a more culturally sophisticated experience, choose Buenos Aires. Night life with concerts, bookstores, restaurants and bars, theater, discos, is just booming, diverse, and hot. The average porteño is highly educated and passionate for politics. Gay life is not so ghetto like. In my experience, Buenos Aires has turned into such a gay friendly city that the former gay neighborhoods have blurred and merged within the city. In my times it was Bunker, now the freak mega disco is AmeriKa. It is full of straight curious guys, and it has a dark room pretty wild where I had sex several times. If you are in Brazil, stay there. I do not think that a couple of days is the way you can really appreciate and enjoy Buenos Aires. tassojunior 1 Quote

Argentina used to be known for its not very diversified menu (basically beef and pasta), but that has changed a lot the last 20 years. The gourmet restaurants in Buenos Aires show a diversity similar to NYC's. tassojunior 1 Quote

I agree with the above comments by @Latbear4blk AND @tassojunior about the architecture, theatre, amazing club scene, food etc in Buenos Aires. As I speak Spanish, I just find it easier in general to negotiate the huge city and explore its distinct culture. My own answer to @KevinC is that I found many attractive muscleboys in Buenos Aires that appeal to me more than sauna-boys. It's just my preference: I'm not into steroidal bodybuilders at all, even tho I was approached by a few in Rio. I really like to share my bed with guys who have model good-looks. I much prefer the preppy-looking, well-groomed young men with fit athletic bodies in Argentina. Coming largely from middle-class backgrounds, I found these guys easy to relate to over dinner and good company on trips. With the economic pressures in Argentina, nice young men seemed happy to meet a discreet, well-dressed foreigner and keen to supplement their incomes. Latbear4blk, tassojunior and Tartegogo 3 Quote
