The carnage of Las Vegas

 The owner of this website is  struggling for participation here. Yet after almost 24 hours, no one here has felt the need to post about the 500+ victims who Have been hospitalized and the 58 plus deaths which have occured Due to to the shooting in Las Vegas. 

 You can’t have a community of people  here talking about escorts if there couldn’t be a simple post about the awful deaths And injured people due to this shooting.

I suspect that the lack of humanity here Surrounding this herendous act of human slaughter Is why no one participates in these forms for more personal and self satisfying  reasons.

If there were decent people participating here during times like this, than there Should have been some community posts about this awful event.

But there wasn’t and there isnt until now.

This is shameful if you’re looking for building a community of people. Of course that’s just my point of view.

There is significant clinical research over the past 2 to 3 years that shows that participation in social media (such as this, yes) is deeply detrimental to psychic and emotional well-being,.

I think rather than a lack of empathy or concern the lack of postings about the horrible indecent in Las Vegas is indicative of the desire of regular posters here to keep this forum free of political discussions- which will inevitable follow any such posting. 

I don't come here for political discussion- and have blocked one frequent poster because of his constant barrage of political posts (even though he and I are on the same side politically) and I don't read other post about politics. IMO this is not the place for such discussions although If others wish to discuss such things I would not register a complaint. I do have other outlets for this type of discussion just as I have other outlets for discussion of my other interest in life.

While a boost in participation for this site would be most welcome I fear that opening up postings that become troll bait will turn off both newbies to this site and some regulars.

I m a political animal but I am with you. I come here to talk about hooking up, not about politics. You are an Olympian, I am Dangling Member, you tell me why people do not participate even when talking about guys?

One interesting think I did noticed, there is a lot of traffic from outside the USA, although they do not post. When I started participating here last week, I posted a few links to my blog. Two links were for DC guys, one link for a guy in Buenos Aires. I am getting a lot of hits from here to the post in my blog about the boy in Buenos Aires, not as many for the two guys in DC.

Oh well. this was a horrible post for me. It wasn't my first and it probably wont be my last.

But what I do know, is that I've stood by those people, now here, because they had no other place to go and supported them from their personal scarlet letter from the  other-place -  to my own personal detriment. The Organ thread here did not please those people over there. But I did it because I don't believe in those people over there over those of whom I like here and believe in.

Regardless, it's always encouraging to my own personal mental health to find out how quickly those of whom were abandoned from over there take offense toward you here for one unfortunate post.

There are few people of whom I have stood by, even when I completely disagreed with them more than Adam Smith.

But, believing in friendship, and my fondship for him, I came here to create a a venue for us. hat was probably wrong for me.

while AS is banned forever from Daddy's forum's I only have 30 days to go before I can again contribute again. I guarantee you that after my 30 day ban has expired, I'll never post there again. The few people  who still post there challenge one's profanity. The 74 year old drama queen who got me banned, Marylander, for telling him to fuck off - was my greatest expression of what I felt about him.

I'm so absolutely comfortable with this, that if I died tomorrow, I'd know how perfect I was for myself, moreso, than I ever needed to be. In telling someone else to fuck off.

I’m the type of individual who stands behind those of whom I may disagree and may cringe With their postings but if I like you I like you and I don’t Stray from my support for you.

Adam Smith was Wrongly banned for life from daddy’s forums simply because The organ thread, oh my God help us all here now, deviated from arts and entertainment.

I view these types of banishments As Awful as one could imagine when your voice is silenced simply because you’re suggesting another expression contained with in the forum of discussion.

 I regret the message  of my post here but I am also equally saddened by Adam Smith‘s Message here that I’m pretty much fucked up because of it.

Like Adam Smith were all disappointed in ourselves from time to time and we should not disassociate ourselves from those who have been less than they should have been at any point in time.

I adore Alam Smith. When I knew he was damaged And silenced from the other place over there I was nothing other than Who I was  before and who I needed to become here. It wasn’t that I wasn’t his friend there but I just wanted him to know that because you get banished over there you’re not losing my friendship over here.

I’m probably more complicated and controversy based than Adam Smith will ever be a but I love him with my heart and I believe that wherever he goes I will always support his points of view.  Until I disagree with them.

I hate that this voice has been silenced there. It was a cheap shot to an intellectual voice who has been there for decades.

I tell someone to fuck off over there who I thought needed to hear that. I just can’t believe that someone who suggested Gilligans Island was the reason for the Emming him for life was the reason to get rid of the voice that I am celebrating now.

Although we might be seen as The Island of Misfit Toys by some the very fact that Adam Smith was banned by The Fat Lady in the Filthy dress (actually it was most likely her nasty little dog Tweeker ) tells me that I made the right decision in leaving that Other Site for good several years ago. 

AS is an incredibly intelligent and thoughtful contributor to this site. And even though his posts might be a bit outre at times (My Dear-that one thread!) he more than makes up for it in his many other posts. I am glad he is here.

Lars, I dont think its lack of Humanity.  I just think its apathy, or perhaps selfishness.  People participate here only to "receive" and not contribute.  Its the reason I stopped posting.  It felt as if I was the only one that was....  Whether its lack of time, or laziness,  people here dont feel the need to contribute.  Maybe there's really no "connection" to the material contained here.  Dont know what it is, but when compared to participation on other sites where the management is dictatorial and manipulating, its quite surprising and something to take note of,  that they would rather be on those sorts of sites than HERE,  where there is a refreshing sense of Freedom.

Lars,  I wasnt aware that you or Adam had been Banned until I just read it here today...  All I can say is "congrats on joining the club"...

I am a Veteran at being Banned, and each time I said FUCK D___Y, I will never post there again.   But ultimately I do go back because of the other participation there.    Its nice to interract with people that actually Read AND respond, which i find terribly lacking here, although I prefer the Politics and atmosphere here much better....  So never say never.  Putting the management aside, other sites fill a void this one lacks.  I tried to bolster participation by bombarding the site with what I THOUGHT would get the members to react... hot guys and sex.... but it didnt work, so I backed off and headed for more populated pastures .   Whatever you decide, its ultimately all about information, education and FUN, so wherever you are comfortable finding that.  Good Luck ... I personally have always been grateful for your support.

I am glad you brought this thread here and am happy it is an active thread.  We provide a place for people to chat about anything they wish to chat about.  However, to say we lack humanity based on that.  People participate differently in different places.  However, I can't think of many topics we don't allow and we don't ban people very often. I hope the participation is now low based on lack of humanity. I call the activity of the other site the Trump factor.  His fans have one thing in common, they like authoritarians. This site is the opposite. We are the anti-Trump.  I still hope there is a place for us as we are not going anywhere.

Well, that is un unfair characterization of those who participate in the other site, myself included. Rather than bitching about the other site, which seems to be the topic that brings the most traffic to this site, we should be brainstorming ways to increase the participation here. @Suckrates said it pretty well. I also tried to participate here before, but it is just silent and slow. I am making an extra effort now because of people like @Larstrupand @AdamSmith, who are banned over there. I do not have another option that hanging out here to know what is going on with them.

I do like the more free atmosphere here. I do like a more liberal style and politics from the administration. But it is hard to me to project those compliments to participants who do not exist. How do you know that your community is better than the other, if your community is invisible or mute?

The success of the other site has nothing to do with Trump. The participants are very diverse on politics, education, intelligence, sophistication, etc. etc. etc.. But the place is alive, that diverse crowd somewhat live together and creates a thrilling community. In a world of safe places and people afraid of being contradicted looking desperately for confirmation of their ideas and feelings, that diversity is a priceless treasure. Misunderstanding the other site's success is not going to help the traffic here.

So the topic should be, what should be do to bring more traffic and participation here? 

Perhaps opening a forum for Politics for those into it it is not such a bad idea.
