TotallyOz Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 The Review section on Boytoy is pretty dead. We rarely get them. They were started many years back and they may be a remnant of things past. However, I'd like some community input. I was thinking of moving all the old reviews to a forum here called Male Escort Reviews and then also let people post their new reviews in that forum. That takes away the vetting of reviews. So, there are pluses and minuses for each thing. What are your thoughts? Quote

Of course there is no perfect vetting and the bull shit can always go through the best filter, but vetted reviews are still more reliable than an open forum where anyone can post anything. Rather than going that way, I would simplify the form to submit reviews here. I tried it yesterday and it is just as bad as applying for citizenship. Too many questions. AdamSmith 1 Quote

I think the original thought was that often those details are inaccurate and this site would give more accurate details. And, often the guys ad doesn't give full information or those ads are deleted shortly after they are up and down and on another site. So, originally, this place was meant to be a place where truthful information flowed and stayed. But, perhaps that time has come and gone. If that is the case, we need to change with the times. I know Daddy doesn't vet anything. Should we go that route as well? Quote

AdamSmith Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 The free and easy and large-volume flow of publicly submitted info in general public online fora, and the therefrom clearly visible patterns of truth vs deception, are what the Internet era are about. Your fill-in review info form constipates that free flow of info to the 9th degree. Latbear4blk 1 Quote

I know Daddy doesn't vet anything. Should we go that route as well? I do not know whether or not Daddy vets the reviews. I do know that at least he gives the escorts that get a negative feedback the chance to respond. If you check last week reviews you can see an example with Mr. Derek Atlas. That implies some degree of vetting. But perhaps you and @AdamSmith are right about how the times have changed. I think the value of Daddy's site is not given by the reviews or by the forums, but by the combination of both. Whether or not he vets the reviews, the actual vetting becomes a collaborative work through the threads in the forum, and through Private Messages. Those are actually my best resources when I am vetting a candidate to hire. Perhaps you are correct and it is a good idea to keep a thread or a page where we can freely post our reviews, and then discuss them in the forums. AdamSmith 1 Quote
AdamSmith Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I think the open discussion forums, wherein advocates -- and also enemies -- of particular escorts can publicly air (afflatus ) and argue and counter-argue their experiences in seeing those escorts, are the most useful -- and self-correctingly truthful -- media available to us today. The 'vetting' done by, for example, daddy, I do not trust one inch. So to speak. Latbear4blk 1 Quote

I think the major issue this website is facing (I apologize if I am wrong @TotallyOz, I am a newbie here and do not have much data) is low traffic. Daddy's website is well established and drives much more traffic and participation. I do not think providing the same service (vetted reviews, even if improved) will help with increasing the activity here. The ability to freely publish any reviews (I guess you will need some kind of vetting anyway, to avoid anything illegal), and then debate (should I say pussy fight?) them may actually be a very attractive feature. All those details, the important ones, will be in the guy's linked ad(s) anyway. I associate myself with these two comments. Young people these days hardly have the time to read and compose email, let alone filling out detailed personal information about themselves to register, which is redundantly available on their personal website or Ad-provider. Same goes for client reviews. Quick and simple is the way to go and reviews/discussions within the forums here might even attract more escort/client participation because of it. It's not perfect from a vetting viewpoint, but it seems to me that review-vetting is highly overrated and it's easy enough to tell if someone, escort or client, is chiming in here with bogus information and for derogatory purposes. Make it fast and easy for them to register, just like us non-escorts and to be reviewed. ** I will note however for the record, that I was, one night a few years ago, water bladder-boarded by two immensely hot and desirable young men and found it to be excessively pleasurable. Perhaps I'll start a thread about it someday! Quote

Oz, I think as with any new entrepreneurial venture, this website was originally created with the most forethought and care of any around during the day. God how long ago was that again? Times change with technology And neither MER or a boy-toy, Or daddy’s has kept up with that change. I believe escorts today want it kept simple. 140 characters or less is all they need. Ask any escort and they will tell you that they are bombarded with information whether it be by registering For an ad or from the client Interaction itself When he calls. What we are missing today is the ease of hooking up from yester-year. The ease of walking into a bar, sitting down, chatting and leaving with someone who you were attracted to and had made an arrangement. This is what you should make boy toy like. You’re smarter than those who fear erections being posted on their website. You’re smarter than those who require censored thought in their reviews and forums. You get this, you just haven’t ever had The technology and insight to make this happen. Now could be your time to offer the escort community a website which is fully functional and fully operational to interactional exchanges with client and escort. It’s easier than you think. You’ve always been smarter than everyone else because your servers are not US-based. Maybe this is a new day and a new dawn for a boy toy.com, however I would highly recommend changing the URL name. It’s always been awful. Today could be a new day for this website. I do know that there are people here that will support you through that change. I am , for whatever that’s worth, one of those people. Quote
Members Latbear4blk Posted October 3, 2017 Members Posted October 3, 2017 As an additional comment about the form, I think part of the problem is that the same form used to submit a review by a client is used for a provider to submit his profile. Quote

We know that in the other website there are much more restrictions than here, but it is actually up to the reviewer to find a way to be informative without breaking the rules. I do not think my reviews are completely useless, although I am happy to have my own blog to complement them. Quote
Members msclelovr Posted October 4, 2017 Members Posted October 4, 2017 Given the legal problems other sites have had, I understand the constraints on reviews. I don't feel that current reviews are "useless" at all. I check to see what the guy offers in his ad and then I look at the reviewer's profile. If I were interested in hiring the guy, I need to know whether he's a bottom or versatile, affectionate etc and to be assured that he relates well and is eager to please a much older man. Everything else is negotiable. And as we all know, personal chemistry is indefinable but important. Latbear4blk 1 Quote
Members BigK Posted October 8, 2017 Members Posted October 8, 2017 I like the idea of vetting, but minimal vetting is sufficient. Forum posts will identify problem reviews and then those posts could be linked to the review to keep everyone informed. I agree that the form could be simpler. I encourage escorts who I plan to review to post a profile here to save me time in posting a review. But all in all, thanks for the great service you provide. Not much change needed. TotallyOz Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 Thanks for all the opinions. We will keep the front end for vetted reviews. We have added an additional forum in this section for reviews that anyone can post. If your review gets denied for lack of content or photos, post them in the additional forum. We have also added an additional area for other sites and I added the first thread. Quote

There are many questions the client can/should ask the escort when they make contact, and it doesnt need to be in the review. Basic info such as top/bottom/vers is crucial, and main physical stats such as height/weight/ethnicity. I would be an easy client. All you need to post is COCK SIZE ! AdamSmith 1 Quote
