AdamSmith Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Passed away today. Reminds why we take test pilots so much to heart as our (mere mortals') metaphor for daily survival. MsAnn 1 Quote
Guest Larstrup Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 There are no more of these type of men left; brave and true pioneers of our human limits within space and our solar system. His NASA page probably sums up his history best - but as a kid I can vaguely remember this incredibly historic moment: Quote

Members RA1 Posted December 11, 2016 Members Posted December 11, 2016 John Glenn is/was a personal favorite of mine. However, remember two things about pilots (and especially test pilots); one, even though they are "full" of the "right stuff", very likely they could not make a living doing anything else; two, the US astronauts, to include John Glenn, had to fight very hard to not be "humans in a monkey capsule" on top of a rocket. RIP John Glenn. Best regards, RA1 Quote
