Members wncdemcub Posted November 27, 2016 Members Posted November 27, 2016 Which is better Lagoa or Fragata? Is some night better than others in each? Quote
Members Lucky Posted November 27, 2016 Members Posted November 27, 2016 Can you define "better?" What makes a night (or a sauna) better for you may not for another. Is it an abundance of twinks, men of color, or just the one guy who would rock your boat if you knew he was there? Is it a big crowd of customers, or an oversupply of muscle guys? One really horny guy or two so-so? It goes on... Quote
Members wncdemcub Posted November 27, 2016 Author Members Posted November 27, 2016 I meant are there specific nights where there is a greater selection guys at one location over another? Is the facilities at one superior to another? Quote
Members Lucky Posted November 27, 2016 Members Posted November 27, 2016 I have only been to Fragata twice, and neither time did it remotely compare to Lagoa. That' my opinion. As for facilities,Lagoa is superior. Quote
Tomcal Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I agree with Lucky! However i have a a good friend(and bigger HO then me!) who prefers Fragata! There is a different look to the guys with Fragata having "every day looking" and "average build" guys predominating. Whereas, imho Lagoa has some stunners! Always SolaceSoul and Lucky 2 Quote
Guest bobbalino Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Last January, I walked up to Fragata twice from my hotel. I was in an optimistic mood, one of the times having had a very nice lunch at Alex Atala's lower-priced eatery, not the fancier prix fixe. The other time having been blown away by MASP's incredible Impressionist art collection on their top floor. It was reasonably busy, but I did not see any guys of prospective interest to me. But I had read some rather negative reviews and needed to check for myself. In contrast, the few metro stops down to Lagoa consistently yielded the challenges of choosing from a larger array of hot guys. And the environment and amenities were also slicker. I would have been very downcast at Fragata had I not already sampled Lagoa and known what COULD be "on tap". I also met a Brazilian customer at Lagoa with whom I shared a late night meal at the frantically busy, popular, and impressive Bella Paulista. This January, I have one overnight at Travel Inn, awaiting Rio connection, and cannot wait to walk the few blocks to Lagoa. I would not likely go to Fragata again even if there for a week. But you should consider giving it a whirl at least once if time permits. Quote
Members SolaceSoul Posted November 28, 2016 Members Posted November 28, 2016 An oversimplification: Lagoa has muscle boys and supermodels, like 117 in Rio. Fragata has everyday, more "approachable"-type Brasileiros like Meio Mundo in Rio. Lagoa is larger and swankier, but Fragata is more intimate. I've had friends that have liked only one or the other, and some that have liked both. But the general consensus is Lagoa is the best of the best in the Americas. Both are in relatively good, safe neighborhoods for walking to nearby Metros, or taking taxis / catching Ubers. It's possible, but not recommended, to do both in one night, but the driving time would be about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic, and metro times would make them about 45-55 minutes apart from each other. So, in other words, if you want to go to both in one night, take a car between the two. Best nights for Lagoa: Thursday through Saturday. Best nights for Fragata: Tuesday and Sunday.
