Last time I asked a question , the discussion turned into a fight between members! Hopefully not this time ! 

My question is, are there any bars /discos in Rio at the moment frequented by escorts? I do not mean the saunas . In the past we had Maxim's , Incontrus, Le Boy, Corujinha. Maxim's and Corujinha have changed its clientele and the other venues don't exist anymore.

where do escorts and potential clients hang out at night ? Nowhere to go after the saunas close ? Has internet taken over completely? Sites like Netgay?

Hi there .... my last day here before returning in the new year. Kept my ears perked regarding the Le Boy reality that now remains a fantasy.

My sense is the answer to your question is a resounding NO.

The hypothetical and/or concrete reasons are covered elsewhere in previous threads. Infrastructure; escorts' other commitments including exercise and rest for buff agenda; supply and demand; visibility in an environment less cloistered than NMM, 202, 117; 'sure thing' private dates; early-ish closure metro subway; getting nourishment in a financially less prohibitive venue following shift hours of being "on" viz performative labor; extending the point of diminished return from wrap-up at sauna to another location; fickle-ness and the hard bias of heavy expectations among clients, and the list goes on.

Many of the fellows are open to an extended hours mutually beneficial arrangement. Others head home, wisely, or congregate in small social clusters where they can let their hair down without scrutiny.

I have been home by 23, 20 my biorhythm time, up at 4 my BR home time zone. Yes I can see the appeal of a club or two. Not in the cards or stars. It is a snack, hot cocoa, and Netflix with or without ur fave GP snuggle-puss.

Most of the guys favor a non-escort scene once they leave "work" in the evenings!  They may go to a club/bar venue but there is no hustler bars per sei in Rio(or most of the rest of the world)!  

Saying that you can get lucky at one of the gay bars like ToNemAi, where i have on 3 occassions picked up guys, but i was by myself and i am sure that is why i was noticed! Its my impression that even the gay sauna boys dont nexessarily hang around gay benues on their off times.  I base this on my FB where about 80 or so of my "friends" are past or present sauna guys and where they post photos of where they were the previous night!  Most times it is a party/Club/bar that you wouldn't classify as gay.

I know the guys that i have stay at the apartment with me when i am there do not go with me to the saunas in the evening.  but will meet me back at the apartment to go to dinner when i get back after 9:30 - 10:00 pm! They all seem to hate going there if they are not wotking and this is regardless whether we are talking Rio, Sao Paulo or Porto Alegre! But they will go to a gay bar OCCASIONALLY, but not every night! And these guys are gay!

i'm travelling alone to Rio in February, staying in Copacabana, which bars in the night time would be OK for me to visit alone? English speaker only

The gay bar ToNemAi is on the "Gay" street R. Farme de Amoeda  2 blocks in from the beach in Ipanema! Itis the local gay bar with primarily a 25 - 40 age range, and popular on thurs thru Sunday nights, especially after 10:00 pm

To my knowledge Rio does not have any hustler bars, saunas take the need for those away...there are places where you can pick up guys but NOT recommended unless you know Rio well and speak Portuguese...

Tomcal, I have seen a lot of the sauna boys in Lapa after they have left the sauna or on the beaches during the day...I have seen them on both Copacabana and Ipanema...

I think it is important to clarify that there are sauna guys that are strictly gay for pay and then there are the ones they are gay but work in the saunas....

Depending on a slew of things from how attractive you are...how generous you are...how well you speak Portuguese....etc....you may be able to get some attention out and about in Rio from the gay guys as well as the gay guys in the saunas....

Unless you are paying for their time....the ones that are strictly gay for pay, you wont be getting any acknowledgement from them outside of the saunas...

Over my years of traveling back and forth to Rio...I have seen guys all over the city in their everyday life and have had some speak or acknowledge me and other simply nod and keep it moving...

Unless you are very attractive and speak Portuguese, your chances of picking up a guy on the streets is minimal...not saying it wont happen but very unlikely....

You can always invite a sauna guy you are interested in out for dinner or drinks or back to your hotel/apartment....

You should definitely bone up on some Portuguese so that you can communicate as most of the locals do not speak English

Fellows, I have to say this got a little off track ... coogee originally specified escorts, but some of the responses seem to use terms for a broader category of rio males ... and this also leaves me wondering what scenes or options or terms redxs is seeking. Free trick? Edgy gay for pay challenge? What exactly?

did not end up in conflict coogee alluded to, but is somewhat ambiguous.

personally, I have had countless encounters at my private home (home base where I reside permanently), but would  inN rio only take guys to my lodgings I knew from the 3 venues, or a gym acquaintance I had copied , read copied, read copied COiede dup to in "cozier" "copied" COied in that more neutral kind of environment. Got friendly with in  that more neutral kind of location. Cozy that is. And could communicate with creatively.

Bobbalino, i appreciate the advise you try and give on your posts but i find your posts difficult to understand the whole thing even after reading them or trying to several times!  Now i admit i am not the smartest guy but i am fairly literate, and i kind of skim over your posts because they are difficult for a average guy like me to get all the fine points of your posts!  Possibly English is not your first language? If not i apologize!

English is my first language. I write and publish professionally. For example, my latest publication was an invited article with an Oxford University Press journal/periodical. I also have contributed to a major national newspaper. I have done several podium presentations, one for which by example I was paid $4,000 USD equivalency for a half hour. Not a TED talk, I am not at that level

I am the 3rd highest paid person among 15,000 colleagues in my job class, though recently retired.

I have ghost-written poorly constructed articles for clinical colleagues, triaging them for publication.

I think the freedom of a forum opens the parameters of the creative juices, not confined to conventional structures that require strict adherence. My language and others' reaction to it is likely am artefact of that reality.

I, as well, read few posts that leave me without questions. I also am inclined to want to edit a great deal of what others post here. 

I can write bullet points that are limited in content, or be elaborate and risk readers struggling with my verbiage.

The feedback is appreciated ... a happy medium is worth striving for. Haha dangling preposition, not dangling proposition like my last 2 nights 117 before flying out today, see I did it again! Just cannot help myself.

The site internal macro works now but not in my last post. I wonder if some posters here set it up for word-find or some such glitch that gets exported to my post attempts unless I can reverse it? Like oh my god gave me some good tips but the solution is onerous and I have not yet mastered it. I am in diapers for a lot of tech stuff.

I have tried to figure out what language he is trying to speak...as it is not or does not sound like basic English.....

I just stopped even trying to read his posts....

Maybe he wants to assert how intelligent he is by typing in a way that has us question what his native language is...

Badboy81, please do keep us informed regarding whose and what posts you read ... there is no 'not like', but some of us may want to hang on your every word regarding who is worth reading. You in particular should have the prerogative of a detailed not-like facsimile. Earlier, weeks ago, you asked if perhaps I was not American. Since USA is the source and bastion of the English language, and I am not American, perhaps that accounts for some of the misunderstanding. In future I will try to model your heights of clarity, conciseness and judicious levels of ornamentation.

Thank you for all the replies. It is true that most of the gay for pay boys at the sauna don't hang out in typical gay bars . However , Le Boy, Incontrus, Corujinha, Maxim's were venues where they could frequent to get clients. 

These venues don't exist or have changed radically. My question remains the same , are there any other places outside the saunas where one can meet escorts, like in the past ? It looks that there are none ?! Too bad Le Boy closed .  It was a fun place with some available boys and lots of eye candy. Now there will probably be early nights !

Short answer is No!  I loved Corujinhas!!  My friends and I in those days stayed in Copacabana a couole bocks from there and we took guys back every night!  Now with 3 - 5 guys staying at apt in Ipanema i have bypassed the need for the hustler bars in Rio and the guys much prefer a regular restaurant to go to in the evenings!
