Among those likely to vote in two months, Trump took 45 percent to Clinton's 43 percent, while Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson earned 7 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein had 2 percent. But among all registered voters surveyed, Clinton leads by 3 points, 44 percent to 41 percent, while Johnson took 9 percent and Stein 3 percent.Women support Clinton by 15 points (53 percent to 38 percent), while men are behind Trump by a larger margin of 22 points (54 percent to 32 percent). Among those younger than 45, Clinton leads 54 percent to 29 percent, while among those older than 45, Trump leads 54 percent to 39 percent. Regardless of whom they support, however, nearly six in 10 — 59 percent — said they thought Clinton would ultimately prevail in November, while 34 percent said Trump would. The Republican nominee has a slightly higher favorability rating than Clinton among likely voters, although both are still underwater. Trump is seen favorably by 45 percent and unfavorably by 55 percent, while Clinton is at 42 percent to 56 percent. The disparity between the two candidates is lessened among registered voters. The poll was conducted via landlines and cellphones from Sept. 1-4, surveying 1,001 adults with an overall margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points, including 886 registered voters and 786 likely voters. TotallyOz Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I just hope something does not happen terrorist wise in the USA. If it does, it is over. He will win as he is "seen" as stronger. In what world do people trust him more than her? Quote

He wasted opportunities in the past when there were terrorist attacks on the world stage. No reason to think it would be any different now. Relax, we got this....I think. AdamSmith 1 Quote
Members MsGuy Posted September 6, 2016 Members Posted September 6, 2016 Sometimes an outlier poll is just that, an outlier, i.e. statistical noise. Polls reporting their results on a likely voter basis are extremely sensitive to the precise definition of "likely voter" used to massage the raw data. Remember last election night when Karl Rove continued ranting madly on about how Romney was winning even as the networks were calling swing state after swing state for Obama? His data were (was?) telling him whites, males, social conservatives, etc were turning out about as expected and that meant Romney was winning. Rove's definition of "likely voter" discounted under 30s and people of color a little too heavily. Oops. That said I've been telling folks for months not to discount Ms. Clinton's ability to screw things up royally. I truly believe that damn near any other Republican (with the possible exception of Cruz) would be beating her soundly by now. 538 on how to read election polls as we enter the home stretch. Members Lucky Posted September 13, 2016 Members Posted September 13, 2016 Hillary may do herself in. If not, the liberal media might. They seem to feel a need to go extra harsh on her just to rove how fair they are, giving Trump a free ride on many things, like who does he do business with? He has 120 foreign projects int he works, I read, but won't say with whom. That's just one free ride he is getting. Taxes? Medical records? Melania's green card? AdamSmith 1 Quote
Members RA1 Posted September 14, 2016 Members Posted September 14, 2016 I find it amazing how different political viewpoints evaluate the various media stories. Conservatives view the media as being mostly liberal and in a protective mode for Hillary. Apparently, Liberals view the media as giving Trump a free ride. Likely neither is completely correct. Politicians are currently viewed at the bottom of the heap with both Hillary and Trump being roundly distrusted. True as far as I can tell. However, this nation needs to do SOMETHING different. Is Trump that someone different? Only time will tell. Best regards, RA1 Quote
