Any insight on saunas scene in Salvador (places/best nights)

Sauna Planetario11 callled sauna P-11 is the best and only one i would recommend there.   The website is www.planetario11.com.br is the website!   Caveat- the owner is a friend of mine on FB   The owner of Pointe202 and Club 117 vacations there 3 or 4 times a year as well

I went to P-11 early last Feb, week nights earlier in week, left Salvador on the Thurs just prior to Carnival kickoff. Was busy and considerable choice to my liking. I also liked the vibe. 

Of course, I had to try out the more distant Sauna Fox, a long-ish cab ride, an OK place in some ways, but I did not 'partake', noted the private cabins had no amenities and were baking/steaming under the upper level roof. On the one visit, I wrote it off; perhaps lucking into a memorable tryst would have impelled me to return. Also, much of the energy was in an outdoor courtyard, I was 9 months past my first exposure to dengue, and the multitude of mosquitoes coupled with the density of patrons had me worried about contracting a second subtype.

In contrast, P-11 was more sheltered, and a few blocks from my hotel that was situated halfway between it and historic Pelhourinho.

[Tomcal ... I thought 202 and NMM ownership overlapped, but not with 117. You are likely more "in the know". Beto Morais for the 2 former, 'Monik' for the latter (117)? No biggie, and it may be private info anyway]

 Bobbalino, you are right!  I was typing one thing and thinking about another! Pointe202 and Meo Mundo are both owned by Acyr and Jorge and 117 has been owned for over 16 years by Monik!

Hahaha, Monik is a truly dedicated work-horse ... Didn't envision her slumming it at Salvador Bahia clubs on her precious off time.

Since we brought up Monik the owner of Club117,  she has been the owner of 117 for at least 16 years and maybe longer.  She is obviously a astute business women, owning other businesses besides the sauna.  She was young when she bought the sauna, as these photos are from this last year and I can tell you she looks just like her photos!  She very seldom ventures back into 117 anymore, as she concentrates on her other businesses!

Yes that is Junior, he is from Porto Alegre and is competitive body builder.  He no longer works in the saunas but in the past could be found at Mezziniu occasionally and Lagoa,   That photo is from the winter before last and I think a "benefactor"  took him for a month's trip to Europe!

Anyone know any bodybuilders there like Junior? Or where could I hook up with the likes.

Correct me if I am wrong, redsx, but your post Hx suggests you visited Rio March past ... Did you not find hunks like Junior at the garoto saunas?

And how did you fare overall in BCN in June, Thermas and the like?

Bcn, I visited here a few months ago. My hotel by chance was in the heart of the gay bars. I did visit Thermas but used it as a regular sauna because it was so close to my hotel. I was warned it was only escorts inside and which wasn't necessarily what I was after. The boys generally weren't my type. A few fit guys did hit on me and we had some fun together and they didn't expect payment.

The gay bars were nice and the people friendly. Lots of locals and visitors. I made friends most places. Visited Open Mind sex club which I'd recommend.

Rio. I loved the place hence why I am going back... can't wait. I did pick up a few fit beautiful guys, but couldn't find anyone like Junior. I'd love to spend time with a bodybuilder like him... think it's the posers they were. I'm next in Rio in February 2017 so if anybody has a trip planned then please hit me up.

Junior and his kind can be seen at fitness gyms. You might get to know some by booking personal training, which is likely quite inexpensive, or simply "mixing" at these establishments. Also local events such as IFBB-sponsored.

Great. I am only in town for one week start of February.

Would it be OK to hit upon a bodybuilder in the gym?

And I don't speak Portuguese... are you aware of any IFBB sponsored events next year?

You asked about muscular guys, saunas, and hourly/overnight rates in BCN for a June trip, redsx (Mike). Now you suggest you are negatively predisposed to the escort scene in saunas, but seek gay without pay BBs?! You might consider sharpening your msgs and Q's, lest you get radio silence as opposed to A's.

Check out http://www.gaycities.com. Something might appear there as well!!  I stayed in Barra across from the water.  But since then both hotels have apparently changed.
