TotallyOz Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Daily I drive this route and it takes forever with all the road work being done. They seem to not be able to get cars moving beyond the pace of a turtle. I sat in a car yesterday to go one mile and it was over 45 minutes. This is more like Bangkok than Pattaya. I do wonder why they don't do the work at night instead of in the day? Quote
Gaybutton Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Part of the problem is likely because a great many people from Bangkok come to Pattaya for the Loy Kratong holiday and I expect because the rains seem to finally have stopped, there will be even more. It's to be expected during major holidays. If you're not already at the beach by 11:30am, you might as well expect major traffic delays during the holiday. I also wouldn't want to try to find a place to park anywhere near the beach after that hour. Quote
Guest buaseng Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 You think it's bad now? Just wait until the multi-lane highway is completed between Jomtien and Pratumnak Road (is it going to be two or three lanes each way? - official statements and opinions seem to differ each time I read about it). The traffic is already funnelled into a massive traffic jam from the over-pass onwards towards Pattaya Tai, especially from mid-afternoon and well into the evening. It's going to be twice as bad or worse when the two or three lane highway is suddenly squeezed into a single file immediately after going under the overpass. Quote
