The author neglects to mention that most of the forced expulsions were from favelas, whose residents are being provided with some form of substitute housing. I found interesting, although not surprising, that Mayor Dudu Paes has fed so many of the concrete contracts to the family of the tourism secretary. Not nearly enough was written on certain issues like the Metro Line 4 and Guanabara Bay cleanup.
