TotallyOz Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Forty years ago today, on May 24, 1976, the first installment of "Tales of the City" was published in the San Francisco Chronicle. As a child, I read these books and thought that my life could be different. I dreamed of San Francisco and I dreamed of having people know me and know I was gay. These books and the author had a major influence on my life. ihpguy, Theolover and AdamSmith 3 Quote
Members ihpguy Posted May 25, 2016 Members Posted May 25, 2016 LOL Has it really been that long? Armistead Maupin autographed his first five to me at a signing many decades ago in Chicago. Theolover and AdamSmith 2 Quote
AdamSmith Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Likewise re has it been that long? I walked in the Stonewall 25 parade / processional and saw Maupin in it too. Realizing that Stonewall 25 was itself nearly a quarter of a century ago is a bit boggling. Time is the implacable enemy! Theolover and ihpguy 2 Quote
