12is12 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Dark, Trzinko recommended using PlanetRomeo for finding guides, but I'm not sure I fully understand what he had meant. I used ManHunt and PR. I changed the location of my profile to those cities (alternating) and wrote IN SPANISH that I'm "looking for a young companion for fun and maybe travels". PR didn't pan out, but in MH I've had literally hundreds of responses. However, since I also wrote that I expect basic English, at least 95% were screened out. VERY few raised the issue of money, and neither did I. I don't want to 'reserve' anyone before I meet him face-to-face. In any case, I was told repeatedly that the real thing is Grindr (and perhaps Hornet), for which you have to wait till you're there. Darkseraphim 1 Quote
Members trzinko Posted January 29, 2016 Author Members Posted January 29, 2016 i have paid my guides 300.000 pesos a day, which is at time of my travel and smart exchange (ATM or Western union) 85 euros or 93 US dollars. i hvae paid them all drinks and food, and sometimes when i was shoping they also got something.... not in big numbers. as in Brazil boys appreciate to eat at good restaurants..... and really enjoy it. Locally i was flying AVIANCA. good, nothing special to mention about it. once my suitcase was delayed, and it came t my hotel room in 3-4 hours later. so, next day i was flying in Medellin, and my next companiero Donaldo was waiting for me at a luggage band. his english was very good, however the guy was very quiet and also shy..... Donaldo was very tired because he travelled 12 hours to Medellin to be here with me. he forgot to tell me that he is not from Medellin, be he wanted to..... make money. we went to hotel together, and i gave him 2 hours to sleep, because he was really in a poor condition. meanwhile i visited jacuzzi on the roof of my hotel. i was in a hotel alejandria in poblado area. again nice hotel, bright room, good breakfast, nice staff.... in the afternoon i went to walking tour of medellin. it is free tour. it takes 3 hours plus and i highly recommend it. our guide pablo was more actor than a guide and it was great. bogota tours are more about spanish period, however medellin tour is about 20th century, civil war, drugs,..... and modernization. city is safe, a lot of people on the street, and very lively. maybe someone will consider this torture of animals. however i found roulettle with guinea pig in the center of the street very funny. picture is enclosed. guinea pig is under a helmet in the center of the picture. helmet is slightly shaken and lifted. subs, guinea pig runs to one of helmets in the circle. if you have bet to that one, you can get 5 times what you have bet. however the winner is actually owner of the pig, he picks up money from other helmets..... 12is12 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Thx Trzinko for sharing. Where/how do I find this free tour? Please advise how to reach out to these guides. Would Donaldo be interestd in accompanying me also? Quote
Members SteveMtl Posted January 31, 2016 Members Posted January 31, 2016 I am currently in Medellin for the 5th time. I agree that the best place to meet guys is on manhunt or Grindr. I have a basic knowledge of Spanish which helps for meeting people as about 90% do not speak English. I am due to return next week and will give a report then. if anyone has questions I will try to answer them while here. Axiom2020 1 Quote
Members msclelovr Posted January 31, 2016 Members Posted January 31, 2016 If you really don't mind answering questions, I have a few. I've travelled in Latin America and I do speak Spanish, but I've not visited Colombia 1. where are you staying? Is it a good place and how is their reaction to your guests? 2. how long a stay in Medellin would you recommend? 3. are there good restaurants with fresh, healthy food? Quote
Members trzinko Posted February 1, 2016 Author Members Posted February 1, 2016 as i don'thave a lot of time, wiltoday only answer the questions. yes, i was adding one boy besides guide in medellin and one boy besides 2 guides in cartagena. medellin story coming tommorow or wednesday as i am busy. i was staying at "poblado alexandria hotel". it is a good place. there was no reaction to the guide, because i reerved a room for two and we came together. second day, before evening around 6 p.m. we invited anoter boy into the hotel. they took his I.D. and put it into our room file. when he left with us about two hours later the i.d. was given bak to him. however, please notice, thatwe were not making loud comments and laughs, but we were behaving like quiet guests. i was staying in medellin for 2 and half days. maybe one day more would be great, but only for the boys..... not for the city attracions itself. there is a lot of good food around, don't worry. something was chosen by my guide, i have chosen argentinian parrila..... there is a lot of italian places..... walking tous.... bogota..... bogota pass .... http://bogotapass.com/project/walking-in-candelaria-2-hs/ medellin..... realcity tours www.realcitytours.com Quote
12is12 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Thank you very much Tzrinko. Could you please connect me with your guide? More generally, how did you find all these guides? Quote
Members trzinko Posted February 4, 2016 Author Members Posted February 4, 2016 second day in medellin. i wanted to see a coffee plantation. so i went to the tour in a village called Concordia. it is not very far, however roads are not good and the landscape is very mountainious. so it took as 2 hours to get there. first they took us from a van to a jeep and we went to see the plantation. it was quite big and steep. there were coffee bushes all around us. now it is not a main harvesting season (October), but some coffee is harvested all the time. we have tried raw coffee from the tree. looks like peanut, when peeled, and no taste of coffee at all. we were later shown, how the coffee is peeled, and separeted in water into extra quality (green coffee), regular coffee, and bad coffee ( what is according to them sold to mutinationals who make varios instant drinks). this was repeated all the time. we have seen Concordia village, market for wholesale of coffee there and had a nice lunch. returned to Medellin around 15.30. when we finished in the center of Medellin, the guide and myself went for a drink. jogo de guanabana, was turned into 2 coctails....... and soon my my guide was talking to a nice black boy there.... he came to our table, he also ordered guanabana juice. he spoke no english.... i speak a little bit of spanish, but when the boys stareted to speak fast i didn't understand anything. after a few minutes my guide said to me that the boy would go to hotel with us and have fun for some money. he said that he would do everything for a 150.000 (Around 46 USD or 42 Euro). ok, so we went. as I mention last time, no problem at the hotel. i have checked his ID already at a drink place and he is born in 1996, so he is ok. at the hotel as i said, we just said tha we have a guest for a few hours, no problem, they took his I.D. and put it in a room file. we stayed in a room for 3 hours, the guy was really very nice, hot and steamy... we had a dinner in a hotel after 21.oo, after that he left. i prefered sex with this guy much more to my guide..... Members tassojunior Posted February 4, 2016 Members Posted February 4, 2016 Any visit to Club Tobi in Medellin? Many of us consider it one of the world's best saunas and for me the guys there are the main reason to go to Columbia. Did you get to the Gold Museum in Bogota or the Botero museums in Bogota and Medellin? Amazing. Quote
Members mvan1 Posted February 4, 2016 Members Posted February 4, 2016 Any visit to Club Tobi in Medellin? Many of us consider it one of the world's best saunas and for me the guys there are the main reason to go to Columbia. Last year I was in Medellin. I stayed in the El Poblado area of the city, which is a very nice and safe area. I decided to go into town to see Club Tobi. After two different cab drivers could not locate the place, I finally found it by walking to it from one of the main streets downtown. After I got to the address of Club Tobi, there was no sign at the door (stairway). There were only numbers written above the stairway entrance. Even though there was no sign saying Club Tobi at the street entrance, I ascended the stairs and located the entrance to the club (which also did not a name on the outside door). Once inside the club, I saw mostly very young and many thin effeminate twinks. However, there was one masculine good-looking guy in the place who noticed my entrance and my apparent disappointment at seeing the mix of patrons in the club. We spoke and we got along very well. He ended up staying with me during the remainder of my trip in Colombia. Twinks are not my thing, which is why I was not impressed with Club Tobi. Had I not lucked out and met the masculine guy in the club, I would have to give Medellin a minus grade compared to other places I visited. I was at the club only one time. I am wondering whether I arrived at the Club at the wrong time or on the wrong day. Needless to say, my opinion of Club Tobi is different from some of the opinions I have seen written in this forum. - BiLatin and SolaceSoul 2 Quote

In terms of restaurants in the various cities and towns, why not first check to see what's on http://www.tripadvisor.comas well as what's provided at http://www.gaycities.com. I've found both sites to offer valuable information regarding restaurants, etc. In doing this one can get a sense of what's available. That's what I did in reference to independently run restaurants in Habana, Cuba. When I told my guide/director that I'd like to eat elsewhere on two occasions, she began to question. She was surprised that I knew the better restaurants that exist in her city. All was good in the end! Quote
Members tassojunior Posted February 6, 2016 Members Posted February 6, 2016 The last couple times I was in Club Tobi the sauna boys were very muscular. Especially Christian. Between sessions the masseurs are expected to work out with weights to show off their bodies in the public-view weight room. The boys are white and don't have tattoos but they do have very muscular bodies. Quote

As I wrote about Club Tobi in my post above "I was at the club only one time. I am wondering whether I arrived at the Club at the wrong time or on the wrong day." The night I was at Club Tobi could be described as a "bad day" when the mix of potential or available guys is not up to the expectations of all or most. However, it is entirely possible that we have totally different opinions of what is attractive. After all, as Aseop once said "Please all and you please none." Quote
Members trzinko Posted February 6, 2016 Author Members Posted February 6, 2016 the third and lastday in medellin. i have decided for Penol and Lake of Guatape. i am skipping travel agencies and their travel offers for 80 $, and i go with bus together with my guide Donaldo. we save more than half of the money and it was without any problem. penol is a vulcanic rock where you can climb on the top by winning 695 steps. it is quite a nice wiew from the top. Donaldo has discovered my iphone, and he is making hundreds of selfies with it. he is also a little bit disappointed because he thought i will take him to Cartagena. well, he was expecting something, that i never promised.... as you can see, the lake of Guatape is also very interesting, as well as the village. quick lunch and back to Medellin. in Medellin we went to see club tobi. the taxi driver had no problem to find it, but it is not near Poblado.... i had some problems when entering, because i paid with a credit card, and they were out of paper with their card machine. they went to buy it...... and when they brought paper, they didn't know how to install the paper. Masseurs have found me immedeatly... really nice and muscled boys and we agree immedeately on a full massage. nice experiance and the boys were really beutiful. Full massage was 90.000 pesos ( 28 US$ or 25 EUR) . in the club there were some more very cute boys. i can not tell if they are available, but they were stunning... some twinks and 2-3 muscled, but not over muscled. just the right one. i am actually sorry, that i didn't go here before, because they looked great.... i would not go to Medellin just to visit club toby, but i would defenitely go to Club Tobi, when in Medellin. mvan1 1 Quote
Members firecat691614502759 Posted February 6, 2016 Members Posted February 6, 2016 Can't wait to hear your report on Cartagena. Took 1 boy from Bogota and another I flew in from some city that escape me for the first 3 days . Had a waterfront condo from VRBO. After they left I found it the most difficult city of the 3 you are visiting , if you don't speak Spanish. Be interesting to hear what you think. Quote

Members trzinko Posted February 10, 2016 Author Members Posted February 10, 2016 initially i have to agree with firecat 69 that in cartagena is relativelly difficult to find boys, when you are already here. why ? i do not know, but that s how it is. on one hand there is a lot of tourists, which makes prepagos on grindr not to talk about a price below 80 $ for an hour, on the other hand it is strange, because when our plane was landing we were flying over a large favela.... it is strange that boys from this place do not come out ? or is it so bad, that they don't have smart phones? i am not able to put down the answer, just guessing. well, i was lucky, i was pre-arranging guy from surroundings. his name is Rafa, and he was hugging me about a minute, after i came out of baggage claim. rafa and myself were talking quite some time before my trip, and he is a really special person. a person to love and hate. phisically he looks much better than on pictures. cameras don't like him. he is 23 years, and he is adopted child. his father, a local boss was banging a cleaning woman in his place. rafa was a result of that affair. his father gave money to his mother to get away. she did get away, but without Rafa and he was adopted by 60 year old woman, who was taking nice care of him. he finished high school, and he is now going to 2nd year of university. his english is good, he is a fighter, and stubburn person, he is also unsecure from time to time. it was real challange to be with him, because you never knew what will happenen next. he is claiming that he is not escort boy, which i belive, because on the first morning in luxuary hotel, he wanted to make a bed, and it took me a while to explain to him, that there are other people to do that for us. on the other hand i am sure he was close to someone with money before...... we took a taxi and went to hotel. checking into hotel caribe no problem. for the afternoon we went to gay beach which is accros hotel Caribe. please do not expect ipanema gay beach. it is not gay beach at all. it is normal beach, with mixed population. some young, some old. maybe a gay here and there, but no stunning bodies like ipanema or even salvador barra. cheap and good food, expensive drinks. do not count on gay beach. in the evening we went to old town restaurant Cuzco. fantastic setting, enviroment, beautiful waiters and great food. this is the best food of all columbia, according to me. you can survive with 30 $ per person, if you skip the wine. Do not forget reservation, particularly friday and Saturday. Rafa was fine. he was a little bit unsecure how to behave at a nice place. we returned to the hotel, where he has delivered all mistic and power of caribean sex. he was not good, he was great....
