Members TownsendPLocke Posted October 26, 2015 Members Posted October 26, 2015 I am out of the hospital after a lengthy stay. I am on medications for high blood pressure, diabetes (insulin injections),pain, and constipation(due to the opiate for pain) After being home for a few days I am suffering a new malady-I am unable to attain an erection. I am sooooo horny and this inability to get off is very frustrating. Any others have experiences like this? Advice? Quote
AdamSmith Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Not direct advice, but possibly applicable -- when I first went on Lipitor, it was difficult to get to orgasm. But with time, that effect went away. Maybe your doc could advise if you will get acclimated to your ongoing meds in similar fashion? Quote
Members RA1 Posted October 26, 2015 Members Posted October 26, 2015 Some BP Rx has that effect + all the stress you have undergone + various other meds. I suggest that you just hang on and see how things go. I predict this too shall pass. As you know, various Rx such as Cialis can help but they need to be used considering other things you may be taking. Also, many suffer side effects from these types of Rx; the main one seemingly being headaches. However, a headache vs. extreme horniness may be a simple trade-off. Best regards, RA1 ihpguy 1 Quote

Members Suckrates Posted October 26, 2015 Members Posted October 26, 2015 YES, grandma has been on BP and cholesterol medication for more years than she can remember, and YES it has affected the ability to obtain erection. However, I am 64, and have now found that although I can no longer get HARD on a daily basis, if I wait a few days, I can get rock hard and function normally for that session. My docs say thats the normal effects of the medication and AGE, and I should use Viagra etc, however Viagra on a daily basis is cost prohibitive. He did recommend Slidenafil, generic Viagra, which I did a whole thread about many months ago. It still causes the after effect Headache, but at least it only cost about $5 and not $40 a pop. Quote
