Members mjd Posted August 28, 2015 Members Posted August 28, 2015 The Boutique Hotel San Sebastian Gay is now advertising on the internet. It's located at Calle 62 in the gay Chapinero neighborhood and has very reasonable prices. I've never been but hope to learn more about it. Quote
Members msclelovr Posted August 28, 2015 Members Posted August 28, 2015 Maybe the moderators can combine this and the other thread you started, and show the correct location in the headline. I wonder if the experienced travellers to Colombia can comment on whether the young men they encounter online would be relaxed/happy to call in and be seen at an openly gay hotel Quote
Members mjd Posted August 31, 2015 Author Members Posted August 31, 2015 Good question, msclelovr. But would a regular hotel allow a young man to come to your room? I read some reviews of the San Sebastian on Trip Advisor. Mixed. Quote
Members tassojunior Posted September 1, 2015 Members Posted September 1, 2015 I guess the only redeeming virtue would be if they allow guests to come to rooms. Otherwise a pretty spartan place. Even $50 seems high. I'd prefer the Holiday Inn or something like it on the nicer north end of Chapinero around the 70's. Quote
Members boiworship Posted September 2, 2015 Members Posted September 2, 2015 I'd love to know which hotels allow one to bring in "guests"! Quote
Members mjd Posted September 4, 2015 Author Members Posted September 4, 2015 There have been reports on other threads saying they have never had problems having visitors in their hotels. Wonder if there is a strategy. Quote

Would you say that the key to having no problems with bringing guests to your room is ensuring that they are well-dressed and presentable in public? Or is there some racial dimension with lighter-skinned guests being accepted while darker-skinned guests are challenged? Quote

bakopanda44 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Isn't this hotel in Bogota, not in Medellin? Quote
Members firecat691614502759 Posted September 13, 2015 Members Posted September 13, 2015 Firecat, would you be so kind to elaborate on your bringing guests back to the hotel, por favor! Gracias! Listed Hotels I stayed in the Prepago thread. Never had a problem. Met them in Lobby and just walked right in with no questions. Quote
Members JAYBLK Posted September 17, 2015 Members Posted September 17, 2015 I've had questions asked of my guests and all had to leave a photo copy of ID. A couple of them had to be registered. Hilton Cartagena, W Bogota, Sheraton Medellin, Hampton by Hilton Cali, Hilton Bogota. Quote
Members firecat691614502759 Posted September 20, 2015 Members Posted September 20, 2015 That did not happen to me at Hiltons in Bogota but it is close to 2 year since my last visit. Also that does not bother me and actually provides another level of safety. JAYBLK 1 Quote
