Members Popular Post JAYBLK Posted July 11, 2015 Members Popular Post Posted July 11, 2015 I just got in from an amazing time at P11 ( sometimes known as Planetario XI). I walked in around 6 pm, guided by the wisdom of others on this site who suggest that this timing is key for the local clientelle on the way home to the wife and kids. As soon as I walked in the door, I was identified as an American and the sharks were circling. One in particular appointed himself my guide to the club. He again, I had been warned by the veterans. It didnt help. I have a weakness for big-dicked mullatto bottoms and this guy, Neto, had been in my dream since I hit puberty. Careful not to get taken in as a rube, I bargained him down to 80 from the 100 he requested. And, I whispered, " are you sure?" in Spanish when he stated loudly in Portugeuse that he was "attivo only". As promised by the wisemen on this site, as soon as we were in the room, his legs were in the air and I had a great time. Having nothing else pllaned for the evening, I decided to hang a round the club a while longer, waiting for th promised show. Another dream come to life, Ricardo, spent an hour trying to get me to do a massage with him. The combination of the drinks and his persistence inspired me to forget my training. I wasnt precise about what I expected before we went into the room and was disappointed by his limited repertoir. I came anyway. By this point, I was two orgasms down in the space or two hours and could barely walk. As I nursed a beer at the bar, a tall guy, Fabio, who is a dead ringer for one of my secret crushes stateside came in. Do i even need to say that I was ready to go yet again and paid his R$100 fee and covered his entrance fee for teh night too. This was the best of all, though he wouldnt bottom. In summary, I spent R$400 for 3 hours with three men whom I wouldnt hessitate to pay $150 each stateside plus I got clean, cofortable rooms and a half dozen drinks as well. If you want Brazilian men who look Brazilian rather than Danish men who happen to work for reis, Salvador is the place to be. Badboy81, MsGuy, msclelovr and 3 others 6 Quote

Members JAYBLK Posted July 12, 2015 Author Members Posted July 12, 2015 P11 is three floors. You enter on the second floor which contains the locker rooms, the bar and the check in desk. The steam room, cold showers and a multipurpose room are on the bottom floor. The top floor contains a small, dark theater and 5-6 rooms and suites. The goarotos were nearly all as you describe for 117. Im told that there are two additional saunas in Salvador. sauna fox is noted for lighter skinned clientele and Thermas Persona is apparently even Blacker than P11. He told me that as well a few years ago, which kept me from initially visiting -- but my personal visits there have proven to me that it's not really all that much whiter than Planetario. The facility is just as nice if not nicer, although it is smaller, and the working boys there, IMHO, are just as fine and built as at Planetario, and almost as many darker / brown skinned guys. The neighborhood that Fox is in (Pituba) is a pretty upscale / upper-class neighborhood in Salvadaor, so that may be why more of the clients are "white" (lighter-skinned, really -- there really aren't many white people in Salvador or Brazil, at least not how we North Americans and Europeans define white). But like all the saunas in Salvador, you have to pick the right night and time for the best crowds. Regarding Sauna Persona, a few years ago, it was totally on-point, with several muscled, attractive, darker and browner garatos. On my last few visits, however, it hasn't had very many garatos, and the ones that were there were just average to me (similar in looks and build to the garatos at Rio's Meio Mundo). I've gotten into the habit of going to Persona right before a stop at Fox, since when staying in Barra or Vitoria or another "Zoma Sul" neighborhood in Salvador, a taxi ride to both is about a 30 minute ride, and they are not that far from each other if you take a cab. But they are both quite a ride from Planetario, or Olympus (another smaller sauna with some boys), or Sauna Rio (sauna with no working boys, all locals), or Sauna Paradise (another no garatos, all local sauna in Barra). In fact, one of the garatos at Persona told me that one certain nights the handsome, muscled guys on the northeast side of Salvador work at Fox. That is what inticed me to visit Fox for the first time. This was in 2013, and I've been to Fox at least 6 times since. In order of my preference in Salvador for garato saunas, I currently rank: Plametario > Fox > Persona > Olympus. These rankings may change depending if things change, as they have over the years. Guest tomcal Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 SolaceSoul, Thanks to you and JAYBLK for the great reports! We needed updates on these saunas and on Salvador! On my last trip to Rio I met the owner of Planetario(also met the owner of Boardwalk in Ft. Lauderdale) very nice guy, the owner of Meo Mundo is good friends with him and they visit each other's places fairly often. He friended me on FB, but interestly has no mention of the sauna anywhere on his page, whereas the owners of Meo Mundo and Pointe and 117 all prominently promote their business on their FB pages. I can understand perfectly why he may not want to do that on his personal Facebook page. I have two Facebook pages. One in my real name that has family members, old classmates and business clients as friends. I have another under what I call my "club name" that I use for my dirt. I would post about my travels, my hookups and my sexcapades on the latter, not the former! Aunt Ruth and Uncle Fred don't need to read about those! MsGuy and JAYBLK 2 Quote

It seems that you agree with the many people who recommended Planetario 11 to me. Like I wrote, they said Planetario 11 was "the only" sauna in Salvador. Just the same, when I go there next week, I will check out Sauna Fox then offer my opinion to the forum. For your first trip to Brazil, you appear to be having a grand time. Considering it is your first trip to Brazil and to Salvador, can you offer an opinion whether having a guide was necessary or merely helpful? If you had maps and plenty of notes, instead of a personal guide, do you think you could have maneuvered through Salvador as easily as you are able to do now? Quote

But I wasn't chasing boys 24/7. The guide was an amazing and economical way to get to know a lot about the city in a very short time. I would have been delighted with his service even if we had never discussed the saunas. I went to Lagoa in SP tonight. Thanks also for the information concerning a guide. With respect to your missing Salvador, I think that is a recommendation for that city. The majority of visitors to Brazil (Americans and Europeans) generally visit Rio. A lot visit Sao Paulo but not many visit Salvador. During my numerous trips to Brazil, I visited Salvador only a few times and saw the city sites and I visited only one sauna, Sauna Planatario 11. I will have to remedy that deficiency next week. axiom2001 and JAYBLK 2 Quote

Damn, brothers, I've been at this site for a while, and during your visits, it's the first time that lots about color has been alluded too, way too much. As an African American who's been to Brasil 11x's since 2002, mostly to Rio but to Sao Paulo, the Amazon, Curitiba, Salvador [bahia] and a few other places-- folks there as well as at this site have not written or spoken much about the persons of color who live in these areas of Brasil. I've often been mistaken as a Brasilian when I've traveled to my most favorite country and to its cities and towns, but when I've spoken that line about my not being able to speak Brasilian Portuguese after being asked questions in Brasilian Portuguese, my "brothers and sisters" have only smiled and laughed along with me. Brasilians, for the most part, are very mixed; Bahia is the most African of all cities in this country, and it was Brasil's first capital! There is racism but it's unspoken about! [...words from my friend from Sao Paulo who lived in San Francisco a while back, going to school and escorting. Today he has a degree and a partner. ...don't know if he's become naturalized.] So my advice to you African Americans is go and be with whomever and try to live without all of this color shit, especially here! We get that far too much among our own in certain communities within our own country. Glad it was not pronounced when I lived in Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri. I've lived in California for most of my life after coming from the Heartland, Kansas City (both Kansas and Missouri) and got the color thing back there but less here. Since you two are African Americans and are into the "color thing," apparently, why not write between yourselves and present general information here, for there are few Americans here as well as at www.daddysreviews.com who are of our ethnicity! [I wrote the preceding as a strong suggestion, for I've been to the saunas in the two major cities, not in Bahia, and have maneuvered onward while there!] Go and enjoy and write about your experiences if you desire irrespective of color because if one is in the largest city comprised of folks who have African roots, of course this will be reflected. ihpguy 1 Quote

Members Popular Post SolaceSoul Posted July 14, 2015 Members Popular Post Posted July 14, 2015 Perhaps there are people who can go to Brazil and not see the racial element. I'm not one of them and have no desire to be. One would have to be walking around Brazil with blinders on, or would have to be burying his head in the sands of its lovely beaches,NOT to notice color differences in Brazil -- and how color (and self-identified race) has to do with class there. And how can one go to Salvador de Bahia -- the place with the largest concentration of people of African descent outside of the African continent, and the place where the majority of the African slaves were dropped off during the slave trade, a place where over 90% of its inhabitants have African blood in them -- and NOT notice or discuss color? I'm mixed-race, Black, Irish, German and Latino, very fair-skinned (like Vanessa Williams, Mariah Carey, Derek Jeter, Vin Diesel fair-skinned) and I notice the interesting irony of the Brazilian brothers and sisters who are darker than me, have thicker hair, and clearly have more "African" features than me who call themselves "white". Due to its different history, color and race are different concepts in Brazil (and other South American / Latin American countries) than they are in North America / Europe -- ESPECIALLY in the USA, where the old "one drop rule" (one drop of black blood makes you black) still applies for the most part. In Braxil, it's almost as. If the one drop rule is in the reverse! Yeah, I got that "please, black people, stop upsetting the nice non-black people by talking about all this color!" message. And I say save it for your therapist. Many men and women, gay and straight, from all over, visit Salvador particularly BECUASE they are interested in the Afro-Brazilian men and women and its emphasis on Afro-Brazilian culture and history. To ignore it would be silly. No, scratch that -- it would be stupid. On one of my last trips to Salvador, I met this woman from Hungary in her 50s who travels to Salvador quite often. She told me she visited 10 years ago and instantly fell in love with the people, the music, the food, the history, the culture, so she travels to Salvador at least twice a year now. I wanted to add, "you mean you really fell in love with the dick!" but I was too polite. But I knew what was up! JAYBLK, MsGuy, mvan1 and 2 others 5 Quote
