Microsoft Finally Launches Office for Mac 2016

I love my Mac but I have always used Word and I like Outlook. The entire office suite from MS has never been kept up to date and the last version of the program is 2011. Microsoft now says that they will start supporting it more and has released 2016. I downloaded it last night and like it so far. I tend to try to keep everything on my computer up to date and with this, I pay a monthly fee for it so it was a free download for me. If I run into any snags, I'll let you know.

Anyone else download it yet?

I have used the MS Office 2011 for Mac for years and love it. Esp. Outlook as I have a MS Exchange Server. So far, I see very minor changes but the look and feel is a bit cleaner. It is integrated with OneDrive but I don't use that as much as Dropbox. So, so far so good. I'll let you know as I use this more.

I used a MacBook Pro 2008-2012. True that MS Office for Mac tended to lag behind the Windows version in release history.

BUT Office for Mac has always tended to be a good bit more stable and reliable than the Windows version. My moles inside Microsoft tell me that the Office for Mac developer team takes a contrarian pride in doing a better job than their internal competitors on the Office for Windows team. And are proud to see themselves as aligned with Apple in general that way -- in doing a better job for the end user than Microsoft has typically ever done.
