Guest Gordon Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Secret Cameras in Boyz Town & Sunee Tonight on Thai Channel 7 at 8 p.m. there was a short documentary about prostitute boys working in bars in both Boyz Town and Sunee Plaza. Channel 7 must have been walking around the two venues with a secret hidden camera, probably in a bag of some sort, during the last few days. They showed the entrance to Boyz Town and the outside of bars like A Bomb, Wild West Boys etc. Also they showed the inside of Wild West Boys. Showed farang faces, some of which I recognize, sitting with boys. The Go Go Boys were made blurred but everything else was shown fully, especially the farangs. Tomorrow is a second part. The last thing tonight was that they stood outside V C Hotel and then proceeded to go and walk into Sunee Plaza were again farang faces were in full view. Sunee Plaza did look very quite the night they filmed this. Just shows that you can be well filmed without knowing it. Wonder what else tomorrow. Quote
Gaybutton Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 One of the major recent concerns was the CCTV cameras in the bars. People were afraid they might be compromised in the manner you describe in your post. So far, nothing of the sort has happened. I don't think anybody has to worry about the cameras in the bars, but there's little anyone can do about the media and concealed cameras they may carry outside of the bars. Quote
Guest laurence Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Gordon did say that there was video recording within some bars, so that is troubling. But, yes, if you are not doing anything "bad'' no need to worry. Wrong! Quote
Gaybutton Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Gordon did say that there was video recording within some bars, so that is troubling. To me, worrying about being clandestinely filmed in one of these bars by news media guys with concealed cameras, and then having that film end up on television, and even then someone who knows you seeing it, makes about as much sense as refusing to fly because the plane might crash. Yes, it can happen. Yes, sometimes it does happen. But the odds are greatly in your favor that it won't happen. Like air travel, it's a possibility, but there's not much you can do about it other than to refuse to fly. Then you won't be killed in an air crash (although tell that to the people who were in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon). The subject of cameras and ending up on television, YouTube, or something else has been brought up before. If it is something you feel is cause for you to be afraid, then the only solution I can see would be for you not to go to the bars or even go to the gay venue areas at all. I don't know what else you can do about it. Quote

I don't know what else you can do about it. Well, it is less risky than crossing a busy soi! I suppose I could just keep both hands on my drink; yes I said my drink! When in some bars I do keep an eye on the other customers that are acting suspiciously or out of place especially the ones not looking at the go go boys or do not have someone sitting next to them. Oh, and the ones with the camcordrers. Quote
Guest slackersam Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 In an age where every person on the planet has camera and video features in their phones you have to assume there is a risk of being filmed whenever you are in a place with more than three people in it. Personally, I'd love it if they had cameras in a back room so that the world could see my 15 inch anaconda. Quote

Guest slackersam Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Yes, but he's on a leather leash in my basement. Quote
Guest luvthai Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I doubt that any of the outdoor cameras are still working as there is no budget to maintain them. The ones along the beach area have been offline for months and the one in the alley across from White Knight has also been off. With the decrease in tourist and tourist dollars ever dept is cutting back. Quote
