Members Riobard Posted January 10, 2019 Members Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) Good to know. Next time someone visits you might alert them that since their website is non-operational (temporarily? missed hosting renewal?) that, coupled with a visitor coming up short (attended on a holiday closure? no signage or did not see one at the entrance?), has lead to at least one exaggerated report of their demise. Have you ever been to the facility? I suspect not. There never was a sign. You simply obtain the address or phone number and knock on the door or you can call them from your cell phone and they will come to the door to greet you. The facility is located within a large building that looks like an apartment house. It would be inappropriate to have signage on the facility considering the type of building it is. As to their website being down, the website is unimportant. The website, the employees and the management NEVER advertise the facility on its website as a brothel. For purposes of the facility, it is a place for only a massage - and for the address and for the telephone number. If their site is temporarily down, Google will provide their phone number. If you were to call and ask for sex, you will get a negative response. Each and every time I was there, as the concierge closed the door with me and one of the guys, the concierge always said, "have a good massage" Edited January 11, 2019 by mvan1 SolaceSoul, dscrtsldnbi, BenjaminNicholas and 1 other 3 1 Quote
Members Riobard Posted January 11, 2019 Members Posted January 11, 2019 I am no expert but I have been there several times over the past 21 years. It does takes a little research for a newbie to find it. And some generations may need to take a seminar on landline use. By 'sign' I meant a little notice of some sort indicating holiday closure. It isn't preposterous for a young tourist to have gone there, seen no evidence of life, discovered the website had expired, and assumed the brothel was no longer in business. That it requires some degree of insider savvy at the level of sussing out cottaging locations is quaint and compatible with the Victorian environs but more a problem for their marketing model (if they happen to care) than for me. I do understand their low-profile approach. Personally, I experienced a minor temporary frisson of satisfaction/relief as my curiosity has at times impelled me to make a pitstop in London that I would have otherwise skipped. Decades ago, including a previous location early 1990s, I was much more satisfied with the lineup. Lately, the city's sights and shows, fortunately, compensate. Quote
Members mvan1 Posted January 11, 2019 Author Members Posted January 11, 2019 Below is a link with photos that show the apartment house where Villa Gianni is located in London, U.K. You can see, the apartment building is large. Can anyone imagine what the neighbors in the building would say or do if there were a sign on the door advertising a brothel? Over the years, the facility built a "word of mouth" reputation and has remained in business many years without advertising. The street number is clearly marked and it is sufficient. Each apartment in the building is clearly marked with a number. In the case of this place, it is number 32 - https://www.google.com/maps/place/32+Nevern+Pl,+Earls+Court,+London+SW5+9PP,+UK/@51.4927749,-0.1962592,3a,60y,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s24zfAQZgpA1eMzw3yF_b_A!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x48760f8cdbfa9df9:0x2c7a75ae254e3497!2s32+Nevern+Pl,+Earls+Court,+London+SW5+9PP,+UK!3b1!8m2!3d51.4928707!4d-0.1963105!3m4!1s0x48760f8cdbfa9df9:0x2c7a75ae254e3497!8m2!3d51.4928707!4d-0.1963105 numerito and dscrtsldnbi 1 1 Quote

There is no apartment building per se unless you consider each address a mini-building. Each address (ie, 30, 32, 34) is a Victorian townhome's street number in the traditional full-block contiguous pattern. Not all of them display the street number that technically corresponds to the address. Most are converted into a handful of flats that are independently owned on leasehold basis. In this case the flat number is simply Bsmnt, but you can see it on the plaque. And as the OP states, the red door down below the wrought-iron. Have fun. Edited January 12, 2019 by Riobard Quote

Members Riobard Posted January 13, 2019 Members Posted January 13, 2019 Exactly. Image along the theme of barmy does apply here. Equating a street address number with a flat or apartment unit number, and equating a street block of houses with an apartment building ... both clearly signs of being 'off one's trolley'. Response as feeble as the mail delivery would be in this case, particularly instruction manuals in the postal carrier bag that are intended to give concise directions to obscure establishments. Perhaps Mary Poppins will come to the rescue. She might even recommend collaboration for clarity. Quote

I was able to negotiate to have my straitjacket removed if I agreed that the cluster of Earl's Court and area buildings (top right) represents apartment buildings, something I never questioned, but that the street block of Victorian townhouses (bottom left) also represents an apartment building within which the 32 Nevern Place townhouse represents an apartment number. Of course, this now puts me between a rock and a hard place since upon my release I potentially face the local Nevern Square Residents Association having me committed. Quote
Members Riobard Posted January 14, 2019 Members Posted January 14, 2019 I saw the dinosaur cartoon elsewhere recently. Cute. Coincidence (a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection). Yikes, the dictionary is no help simplifying. I am doomed to rely on complex terms! I only yesterday set my PVR to record NOVA - "Day the Dinosaur Died" (PBS). Anyway, what I am trying to say is, badly perhaps, is that is the coincidence. Or is it simultaneousness, contemporaneity, concomitance? HELP! Quote

Good news, the gaycities.com site personnel corrected the erroneous report about the closure that never was. Now, visitors to London, who want to visit the facility, will be happy that they can still visit there. Below is a link to the updated site that no longer says it is closed. By the way, if anyone wants to visit the facility, it is best to telephone ahead to ask the hours. Their phone number is in the gaycities listing in the below link. It is also, in my opinion, a good idea to call the facility when you arrive. That way, the concierge will come to the locked door and greet you without your having to knock on an unidentified red color door with a number 32 written nearby. https://london.gaycities.com/bathhouses/308086-villa-giani EDIT - Those ninnies at gaycities changed their site again. The site had removed the notice saying the facility was reported to be closed. Now the notice is back again saying the place is reported to be closed. Anyway, have no concern. The place is open. Don't pay any attention to the gaycities notice except for the address and the phone number. Edited January 16, 2019 by mvan1 Quote

I have been using them twice a week for the past two months since I’ve been living here for business. They were closed Christmas and New Year’s. They got brand new mattresses for all the rooms, so they have been updating each room. An update: 1-normally 3-5 guys around 2 pm when I go, and around 5-7 when I go around 5 pm. 2-very gracious manager and a sexy tall French receptionist. They will ask if you want some water before you view and after you have sex. A really small but classy place. The rooms are small but immaculate. 3-cost is £100 that is paid afterwards to the management. The guy you choose will usually seek an extra £30-40 if you want him to cum. 4-when they take you to the room with the one way mirror, they will usually explain that the guys are all versatile but note exclusive tops. I always tell the management that I want the guy to be a good kisser so they will later ask the guy to confirm. If not, you can just tell the guy you will choose someone else. 5-virtually every Brazilian and most of the guys on sleepyboy/Grindr who charge £150-200 there, will be at the Villa at some point for £100. That reality is important because the photos of especially the Brazilians are way old. The nice thing is to see what you are getting first in person. 6-when the guy comes into the room with you, be sure to confirm exactly what he will do and what you are expecting. If there is a disagreement then you can say you want to choose another guy at that point. 7-outside the Earls Court underground station is a large and small pharmacy to your left. I went to the large BOOTS pharmacy and got an 8 pill set of Viagra for £35. If you have not done this before, just tell them you want viagra connect and they will give you the one page form to complete. No name is required, as the form merely asks medical info. The pharmacist will ask you to confirm your checked off answers, and then give you the medicine to pay there. Took me five minutes max. The Villa is just a five minute walk from there. 8-twice I found a guy on Grindr but could not accommodate. The Villa will give you a room for one hour at £40 if you call and reserve. Worked perfect for me. Cheers! All the above by @Santiagodcis true, I can confirm. One more point: late at night (9:30 or 10pm) you should expect to find only 2 guys left at most. At 10 pm you are likely to be the last client. Not recommended, because of the limited choice, and the tired boys. paborn 1 Quote

The first is to call ahead and tell them you want the room with the shower at X o’clock. The other is to just show up and ask if the room with the shower is available. If not, you can sit and wait watching tv until it is free. There is a sort of general public use shower available but the escorts seem to use it when their own is being used. I didn’t want to wait around. Most of the rooms do NOT have showers, but they have always provided big hot wet towels afterwards when I use the Rooms anyway. Quote
