Last night the BF and I cruised the strip near the Royal Palace. I am surprised no one mentioned this area yet on this thread. Just past the military buildings across from the palace is a few block long crusing strip that we drove around about ten times before making our choice. The cruise strip is actually four streets that form a rectangle. The going rate is 500 baht (1,000 for couples).

There were probably 75-100 boys and all of them were decent looking, with a great number being very good looking. Most looked like Uni students. The boy we ended up selecting was 19yo (the bf and I both looked at his ID card) and was beautiful. He was from Chiang Mai and a University student. We went to a nice short time room nearby that cost 200 bt (though there was a seedier ST hotel with 70 bt rooms that we opted against). He was probably the best sex the bf and I have had with a third.

I saw a number of taxis crusing the square with passengers in the back trying to make a selection. There was also a large number of private cars. Our boy told us most of the trade in this area were Uni students, that they self-policed underage hustlers from working there, that many boys would pull several tricks a day, and that it beat working in a bar even with a lower tip.

Personally, I thought the boys here beat most of those in go-go bars as far as looks went. No off fee, no drinks to buy, and a 500 bt going rate (which they tell you up front). I would never pick up anyone here if they did not have an ID, but all-in-all, I think this is the best kept secret in BKK. BTW, on the other side of the palace is where the military guys who are hustling stand and work. We cruised this area once, and there were tons of cute guys (some in uniform), but I wanted to stick to one strip to cruise.

There were definitely plenty of hot guys to go around, so I don't think it should be secret. I'm sure if one hails a taxi later at night and says Royal Palace that the driver will know what you want.

This sounds interesting. Please tell me which side it is, as it has been sometime since I went anywhere near the palace.

From what I saw last June and also from what I can read these days on a thai webboard, it seems there are less boys now than before. Rain is probably one of the reasons along with security concerns for the customers and police checks.

It is really a hit and miss place : you could come at 10 pm and see vey few boys, and come back half an hour later and see the area bustling with cuties. In this case, do not hesitate too long before picking the one whom you fancy, he will probably have disappeared on your next round.

Another recent thread about the area can be found on the gayboythailand blog at http://gayboythailand.com/bangkok-thailand...port/#more-3607

My own experiences there have been completely different from what was posted on that blog. It wasn't "rough trade" at all. It was primarily university students trying to earn some money. I've gone around both in my car and on foot and felt perfectly safe either way.

I do agree that it's hit and miss. I've been there when there were very few boys and I' ve also been there when there were so many that it was just incredible. In that respect, it's simply a question of luck.

My experience was also with more college boys. I missed the rough trade boys. What time should I go to see them?

Thanks for this, GB. I forgot about these two threads.

I'm not sure how close Saranrom Park is to the areas where all the political problems are taking place. I hope it's not so close that there won't be any boys around. There's only one way to find out, I suppose.

If you make it to Pattaya, contact me. I'd like to meet you.

Is there anyone who can see the phrase "Saranrom Park" and not think "Santorum?"

I thought Santorum had become the universal word for cum leaking out of ass.

Hi GB,

Thanks again for the info. Of course I'd love to meet up with you when I come to Pattaya. I've never been to Pattaya before and the last couple of years, every time I've planned to really and truly come at last, something's always come up so that I've had to cancel my plans at the last minute.

I can tell you that I am going to do everything I can to spend a week here on my 50th birthday in January for sure. I intend to be very much buffer than I look now because I want to have my naughty grandpa poster boy pictures taken properly - maybe even professionally. I'll probably try to get all my tattoos touched up before I come, too. It would be great if you knew any good photographers I could go to in Pattaya.

I had a good dinner tonight at the S&P riverfront restaurant near the river jetty, Tha Chang, at the Grand Palace....very good location. Then I walked around the end of Suan Luang park, past the Defense HQ and around Soranrom Park a couple of times around 8:30pm. The bus stop at the park entrance is where I usually catch a No1 or No47 bus to Rama 3 Road where I live. It is also the place where most of the boys wait for cars. In the past, the boys ignored walkers and concentrated on riders, but tonight every available boy greeted me in one way or another.

First there were 2 attractive boys in front of the defense HQ who chatted and made clear they were available for sex, singly or as a double act...very fresh and wholesome I thought. But I said I was only waiting for a bus and didn't have time to go anywhere(I had just spent 2 days having too much sex with two boys I had met on GayRomeo...one is a show dancer at Dude pub in Pattaya...performs from 1-2am at weekends only but studies in Bangkok on week days).

Further along toward Wat Po, two more boys approached and smiled and asked if I needed any sex..very pleasant and spoke a little English. Then round the corner to the bus stop where I waited a few moments before a very cute lad approached and sat next to me and begged me to take him for sex for Bht1,000. He is from Pitsanulok and just arrived and needed some cash for his mom. He advised Bht500 would be more acceptable. But as he was very hungry, even Bht20 would be good. I gave him enough for a decent meal..even though he didn't look broke or malnourished...just plain decent. He said thanks and I suggested that his good looks should net him a lot more if he lingured some more. There was a very respectable elderly Thai gentleman at the bus stop observing our conversation and after the boy moved on, the Thai gentleman followed the boy and they became engaged in a negotiation, but I think the boy was asking too much and they parted amicably. Soon after that, I was happy to see the boy was quickly picked up by a decent-looking driver in a BMW...so he should be happy now.

I found all the boys to be pleasant and attractive. But one point about the reports of cars driving round the block...the road at the back of the park[furthest from Grand Palace and next to the klong] is a one-way street heading south..or clockwise. That direction would be nearly impossible for cruising in a car in that area...so I am assuming the circuit must be the other side of the klong and not under the inviting trees! Tonight I saw no boys in that area.

There is nothing wrong with generosity, but for the record the going rate rule-of-thumb for Saranrom Park boys is 500 baht for 'short-time', 1000 baht for 'long time' (which means overnight). In addition, you should also give them taxi fare to go back to their rooms.

1000 Baht for overnight? WOW! It's 1995 all over again. Now I know I musn't miss this!

It also would be a kindness to either give the boy money for food, or if you keep him overnight you might take him out to breakfast somewhere . . . . that is if he isn't one of those boys who thinks waking up before 2:00pm is waking up early.

I can think of better things to put in his mouth than food.

LOL If you think it's LOVE you are buying you are extremely naive.
