Guest NichoLon Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 After all the excitement generated by the “cute boys of Prague” I apologise for opening a boring thread on a practical topic. A search shows that there has been some discussion about different hotel options. However, in recent years, I’ve come to prefer apartments, especially for longer trips. When travelling alone I don’t necessarily want to eat out at every meal and, well, I prefer the privacy and flexibility of apartments and the chance to “live like a native”. I noticed that one of the many porn actors with a Prague escort profile also offers “bed and breakfast” but the location seems too far from the centre for my purposes. The link he provides for the room alerted me to the existence of a business called Mrbnb (misterbnb.com). The concept and website lay-out of Mrbnb are clearly modelled on airbnb, but I don’t think there is any connection between them. Mrbnb has a few gay(-friendly) apartment rentals in Prague, though very few user reviews. I have used airbnb and found it works well. It has a lot of Prague rentals. Hard to know where to start. I was just wondering if anyone had rented an apartment in Prague using airbnb or Mrbnb. Or using one of the rental agencies – whether gay or gay-friendly or even one without “sexual orientation”… Or whether friends had done so. I have a rough idea of the centre but any views about areas also gratefully received. I don’t necessarily need to be next door to Escape Thanks for any ideas, here or, if you prefer, by PM. Quote
Members lookin Posted September 9, 2014 Members Posted September 9, 2014 Sorry you haven't got any recommendations yet, unless by PM. It's been a decade since I've been in Prague, so can't personally offer any advice. One thing I have done in the past, however, is to stay in a hotel for the first night or two and find an apartment while I'm there. Like you, I enjoy 'living like the locals' and can better figure out where I want to be when I'm on the ground. This worked well in Budapest, even though there was a major auto rally in the city at the time. I know this strategy won't work for those who like things buttoned up in advance, but it's given me some pleasant results. Hope those with better info chime in. And good luck! Quote
Guest NichoLon Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Lookin - thanks for that suggestion. I tend to like to get travel arrangements "settled" early so I can stop thinking about them and concentrate on other important tasks like....well, you can guess.. That said I can see some merit in your approach. Something to think about, thanks. Quote
Members Simonpr1974 Posted February 18, 2015 Members Posted February 18, 2015 Hi, I am looking for a recommendation of a hotel near Escape Club, where it is no problem to bring a escort with me at night. Would be Radisson Blu suitable or do you have other recommendations for me? Thanks for you help! Simon Quote
Guest tomcal Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 On my trips to Prague I have either stayed at the Hotel Ariston or their sister hotel across the street the Ariston Patio which I prefer, more modern and no night desk clerk to question who you are bringing back. for apartments I have stayed several times at the apartments that are above the "Sklep Restaurant". and about two blocks from the Ariston hotel, At Seifertova 53, Sefertova is the same street that Monty's and Club temple are on about 5 blocks up the street. The rooms all have kitchenettes and there are several markets within a block of the apts. to get food/sundries.http://www.apartman-...om/EN/index.htmWe have walked from both places to Escape but it's about a 20 min walk. the bus is right in front of both the hotel and apartment is is less then 6 ot 7 mins to Escape. also very walkable from both places to Old Town. the pic shows the two hotels across the street from each other, you register at the Ariston hotel for both places. in the photo straight down the street about 5 blocks are Club Temple and Monty's(little temple) Quote
Members pauleiro Posted February 27, 2015 Members Posted February 27, 2015 Now (or at least recently), there was a doorman during the night at the Ariston patio (so someone at reception on the Ariston lobby side and another one on the other side of the road, at patio). A friend of mine recently experienced some problem, even at the patio. marko73 1 Quote
