Some Thoughts on the Difference Between Latin and USA Men

One thing I'm still trying to decide is why it's so hard to find men of comparable quality in the USA who you can pay, as you can find in Brazil. I'm not sure if the reason is purely economic or if it's cultural. It's better to think about this without wishful thinking.

First off let me clarify what I mean here by guys of comparable quality. In my opinion the gay guys you meet at gay clubs are similar in the US to what you find in Brazil. I'm not saying this to brag but I've never had trouble hooking up for free with such guys, and also never had any interest in it. Rather, I'm talking about straight, or at least bisexual men who identify as straight and live a straight lifestyle, but who occasionally like to top other guys. I'm talking about young (under 25 or 26 max), muscular guys who are also handsome and manly in temperament. This is a rare type of guy overall, let alone one who will do anything with other dudes, for money or not.

At my gym in the US I see guys like this with some frequency so the US, at least in parts of the US, definitely does have such men. But unlike in Brazil there seems to be no means of hooking up with them for money. In Brazil it's RELATIVELY easy. That is to say, there are usually at least one or two guys like this at 117 and it's occasionally possible to easily meet such a guy in day to day life as well (I hired a personal trainer this last time around). But in the US "gay for pay" is a thing of porn and nearly impossible to find. I've been looking on rentboy, backpage, craigslist, and there's nothing that fits my criteria in Boston. In NYC there is but only OCCASIONALLY. A lot of these profiles are fake.

So here's the question why is it so extremely rare for American guys under 25 to do some work like this on the side. You'd think that getting your dick sucked for $200 (which is a price I'd gladly pay) would be a good way to make some quick cash, but no. Instead you find nothing. It's either pros, who are often gay and don't look much like their pics, or nothing at all.

So then the question is, is this purely economic? Is the standard of living in the US that much higher that an average middle class white guy who fits my description will just never need to do gay4pay or hustle? Or is it more of a cultural issue? I mean, is bisexuality more common and acceptable in Brazil and is THAT the reason it's much easier to find "gay4pay" there (and in Colombia etc.).

My guess is that it is cultural. I say that because in Boston where I lived for many years that kind of thing is all but impossible to find. On the other hand in Manhattan it is fairly common: You just have to spend enough time cruising straight or mixed bars.

While living in NYC I found it rather a lot more than just 'occasionally' available, btw. Not necessarily among guys advertising online, of whom I have no knowledge because I did not look there, but among guys out and about in bars and clubs.

Places where I had success in this respect included, for instance, straight dive bars such as the fabled Rudy's, also Holland Bar and Blue Ruin, all on 9th Ave just above or below Port Authority. Also as you might expect some of the bars on the Upper West Side; don't recall the names.

I was advised there can also be fair hunting for this kind of thing over in Jersey City, etc., but never investigated that.

Thanks for the tips! I'll check those places out next time I'm in NYC. Though the time I lived there, and when I visit, I haven't been able to find what I like...but maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Why do you think Boston is this way btw?

Boston is a puzzlement. For a city with such a huge student population, you would think more of them would escort. But no. Whereas in NYC it seems 1 out of every 3 people is for sale. Only thing I can conclude is Boston is like much of the rest of America this way, while NYC is an anomaly here, in this as in much else.
