Members MsGuy Posted August 24, 2014 Members Posted August 24, 2014 If you answered the title of a new gay themed series from Channel 4, the English broadcaster that aired Queer As Folk, you probably don't need to read this link. The show's creator stated he got the idea for the tiitle from a scientific study on erections. "It divided the hard-on into four categories, from soft to hard. One, tofu. Two, peeled banana. Three, banana. And four, cucumber. Right there and then, I knew I had my drama." Plot summary: Henry Best, a 46 year old in the middle of a relationship breakup, has the hots for a much younger man and winds up house sharing with a bunch of Gay twenty-somethings. Says Henry, "We all live together in a big gay house, being gay." Reported Dick-o-meter reading: "so risqué that it "wouldn't get past an American network"." and "In a drama looking at the details of people's sex lives,..., of course you are required to bust taboos or ask probing questions. There's no doubt people will find it challenging but it's asking intelligent questions in an original way," Writing, acting, directing etc.: "amazingly warm, incredibly funny and beautifully written" Sample cast shot: AdamSmith 1 Quote
Members RA1 Posted August 24, 2014 Members Posted August 24, 2014 OK, I give up. What is Channel 4, other than a local TV channel? Personally, I have a done both scientific and layman research on erections and would continue to do so on the above suggested cast. Best regards, RA1 Quote
Members RA1 Posted August 24, 2014 Members Posted August 24, 2014 Thanks. I assumed something similar but is it available on DirecTV or others here in the US? This site did not say or I missed it. Upon my original google, I only saw local stations as a possibility. Gosh, if only I had the wherewithal to live in the UK or some other advanced society. Best regards, RA1 Quote
Members MsGuy Posted August 25, 2014 Author Members Posted August 25, 2014 RA1, I don't know for sure but I suspect that, like Queer As Folk, the best we will see on American TV is a watered down remake. No bouncing boyish bottoms (blue or otherwise) or full monties for the likes of us. Surely one of the less technically challenged posters can figure out some way we can siphon the show from Channel 4's vaults past the US censors. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I thought that the US version of QAF was very explicit.. Was it censored??? To me it was like a porn... Anyways, I don't have time for TV these days.. I don't have enough time to sort through shoe catalogues.. Quote

You watched such trash, Hito? Tsk, tsk...I'm disappointed in you. But to answer your question, the Brit version featured full on willy waggling and butt burglary (or so I'm told). Besides, judging from the stills, the Brits were cuter at least as measured by my wank-o-meter. Quote
