August 17, 201412 yr P.S. I love 'America the Beautiful.' Granted it can sound a bit much a period piece of its time (1893, revised 1904 and 1913), but striking how timely its second stanza remains today. O beautiful for pilgrim feet Whose stern impassioned stress A thoroughfare of freedom beat Across the wilderness! America! America! God mend thine every flaw, Confirm thy soul in self-control, Thy liberty in law!
August 17, 201412 yr Active Members What happened to the Pilgrim's feat(s)? Or, am I thinking of John Wayne? There are many wonderful and beautiful songs about America. I only wish we, the citizens, would live up to them. Best regards, RA1
