TotallyOz Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Over the last 2 weeks, I got a bit stressed at all the posting when Daddy's site was down and to be honest, Steven's posts irked me the wrong way from the very beginning. However, no matter how much someone usually irks me, I rarely let it get to me the way I did with Steven. I would like to apologize to him and to the community for setting him on a 2 week ban. It was not the right action. Lets just say I had my period that day and after a few days of thinking on it, I said to myself, "what the fuck?" Helping the admins of this site to moderate the forums is usually the easiest job on earth as we rarely if ever need anything moderated. However, sometimes we make mistakes and I made one last week. My sincere apologies to Steven for being so short tempered and my apologies to this community for letting anyone get under my skin so much that it affected the site's morale. Members Suckrates Posted August 14, 2014 Members Posted August 14, 2014 OZ, I am sure you know the old saying "it takes 2 to Tango", and "you made your bed, now lie in it". I saw your action as a "reaction" to a behavior that was inappropriate and self-serving, and honestly do not think you owe Mr Draker or this sites members any apologies for the decision you made. We know in life that bad behavior has its consequences, and a wise person has to accept that. Yes Mr Draker has his few supporters here, but IMHO it was his sudden irratic and impulsive behavior that affected the morale of the site way more than your decision did. I for one applaud your introspection and know that the Ban was not a random act of malice against Mr Draker, but a decision you made after weighing its pros and cons, and in your heart believed it was best for the site. Noone faults you for actions that are born of the heart. paulsf 1 Quote
Members Lucky Posted August 14, 2014 Members Posted August 14, 2014 It takes a good man to give a public apology when he is wrong, and Oz deserves credit for not remaining silent. Draker, however, is still banned according to the word under his user name: Banned. Quote
Members RA1 Posted August 14, 2014 Members Posted August 14, 2014 I agree. When will SD make his apology? Best regards, RA1 JKane 1 Quote
Guest lurkerspeaks Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I guess I might as well chime in with my two cents worth.. First of all, I agree that it is very big of OZ to make his public apology. Personally, I did find SD's behavior to be out of line and I definitely felt that a time out was needed and warranted. As to the duration of that time out, that is where it gets sticky. I believe for a "first offense" a week is a reasonable cooling off period. If a repeat occurence happens after that, then a more severe time frame such as a month.. I am a strong advocate for the "three strikes" rule. If you commit the same offense three times, then banishment from the land of OZ. To me, the biggest grey area comes from what warrants the first action?? When does persistence become annoyance and a detriment to the conversation?? Quote

TotallyOz Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Folks interested in the back story to all this may wish to check out the Sandbox. Be careful MsGuy! Be very careful. When people go digging around in the Sandbox, they may find many things they do not wish to find. I was even told that perhaps there there may even be clues to where Hoffa is buried in one of those threads. AdamSmith 1 Quote
Members MsGuy Posted August 14, 2014 Members Posted August 14, 2014 The beauty of TY's Sandbox system is that nobody gets censored, everybody gets to be just as silly as they want and admins don't get entangled in the foolishness trying to chivy enraged posters into acting like they had good sense. Added bonus: once deprived of the spotlight essential to its growth, the fuss tends die out on its own, no further admin intervention being required. ---- Hmmm...I seem to recall someone suggesting just such a course of action about midway through this particular hoorah. But did anyone listen? Quote
Members Suckrates Posted August 14, 2014 Members Posted August 14, 2014 I think the person that owns the site has the right to do whatever the fuck he wants, to whomever he wants to do it to. If certain behaviors are an annoyance and you want to Ban them, you do so. Whoever doesnt like it can go and start their own site and make their own rules. The site owner owes YOU nothing. You are his guest, and if he wants you to Leave his home, you GO ! Quote

Members Suckrates Posted August 15, 2014 Members Posted August 15, 2014 Most members come here to get info on prospective hires from people that have actually HIRED them. So, for the most part an escort wouldnt serve any purpose because in theory, they get plenty of sex Gratis, and normally wouldnt be paying another escort for his services (although there are probably some rare exceptions). So if we take his first hand knowledge of another escorts performance out of the mix, that leaves us with his personality and contributions. Since we are speaking about Mr Draker, he has on occassions (when he isnt ranting) brought some good and interesting stuff to the table, but when you weigh it against the "cons" of his participation.... you can quote Arianna Grandes new song: "I got ONE LESS PROBLEM WITHOUT YA"..... Lucky referred to Mr Draker the other day as an "esteemed" member... I would hardly call his recent performance an "esteem maker"...... Quote

The "Esteemed member" title was given to him by the website Boytoy.com, not me. It does seem to me that if Oz felt he made a mistake, he should undo it and end the ban. Just my two cents. Here's a little present for Oz: Quote
TotallyOz Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 Lucky, might I suggest that you chill? Steven and I are in touch about this. And, it is a need to know. And, you don't need to know. Although, if you had given me the person in that picture last week, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. So, I blame all this on your lack of the present at the appropriate moment. (real person would have worked as that would have occupied my time all last week. Picture only distracts for 30 sec.) Quote

Members RA1 Posted August 16, 2014 Members Posted August 16, 2014 Obviously, more information is a good thing. However, is there not a limit to what can be discovered via the written word or pictures? I think I know what you mean, in that we could discover personality aspects from various posts. All good. But, is not the real proof of the pudding in personal encounters? I am willing to suppose that I can tell a lot more about you from spending an hour or two or an evening with you than I can reading thousands of words. Therefore, what others say about their experiences in person have a lot more impact than any other thing written, don't you think? Best regards, RA1 AdamSmith 1 Quote
Members Suckrates Posted August 16, 2014 Members Posted August 16, 2014 I would even venture to say that alot of people who come off, loud, Harsh, abrasive and obnoxious are REALLY very nice people if you were to meet them in person. Somehow communication via the written word on a website translates into a form of BRAVADO that the person wouldnt normally have under face-to-face conditions ? AdamSmith and TotallyOz 2 Quote
Members RA1 Posted August 16, 2014 Members Posted August 16, 2014 Another aspect of this same subject is the power and persuasiveness of words alone. I once had a deal with a professor of a NC university. We wrote back and forth and back and forth. I used what I thought was inescapable logic and reasoning, while he replied, I am not persuaded or words to that effect. He had a long list of things he was not satisfied with in our deal which could have amounted to thousands of dollars. I, too, was unwilling to agree and pay any such. Eventually, I wearied of the back and forth and offered him 3-4 hundred dollars + an explanation of how that money could best be spent on his behalf. He accepted. Nothing further ensued. The lesson I hope I learned was to try to know what the other person really wants and how to best provide it at the minimum expense to you. My firm opinion is this gentleman simply wished me to say I was wrong and make some amends, which I did. Best regards, RA1 MsGuy 1 Quote
