TotallyOz Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 The lady at Starbucks told me today as I gave her a 10 for a 4.72 order. I looked at her and said, "yes, it would be nice." she said, "OK, my kids are getting ready to go back to school so I thought I'd check." Is that not weird? flipao, Lucky and ihpguy 3 Quote
Members ihpguy Posted August 10, 2014 Members Posted August 10, 2014 I thought they had communal tip jars at checkout? Or what about, "Hey, Beotch. I'll take a couple of muffins for the road? TotallyOz 1 Quote
AdamSmith Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Seems extremely odd to me. One panhandler outside The Web was habitually that brazen with me, but then that was his occupation. Quote
TotallyOz Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 I get the same order every day. I always leave the coins but a 100 percent tip for bringing me a cup of coffee? It does seem odd as Starbucks is a great job to have and a good company to work for. Lucky and flipao 2 Quote

Members RA1 Posted August 10, 2014 Members Posted August 10, 2014 A guy goes into a bar has one drink and leaves $100. The bartender says, how do you like that guy, leaves without paying for his drink. Nice tip, though. Best regards, RA1 JKane and lookin 2 Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 It is more and more like that these days.. The world is changing as usual.. I make my own coffee though.. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I stopped going to Starbucks all together when I found out the drink I was buying had 650 calories in it. So I have a Keurig now and make my own. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Making your own coffee is healthy.. I drink it black without cream or sugar.. I don't like fancy drinks at Starbucks.. Quote
Members markgordon Posted August 26, 2014 Members Posted August 26, 2014 I quit coffee when I quit smoking: the 2 were too closely associated in my mind. Now I drink tea... which I rarely did when I lived in the UK lol. Anyone who actually asks if I want change for anything gets a long meaningful yeeeees. wayout 1 Quote
Members RA1 Posted August 26, 2014 Members Posted August 26, 2014 Basically, I did the same except I quit drinking long enough when I quit smoking so that I wouldn't backslide (accidentally or otherwise). During the interim, I discovered I didn't need coffee or even like it that much. Now, after 30 years of not smoking, I drink, maybe, 3-4 cups of coffee a year about 1/3 of a cup at a time. Oh, yeah, I resumed drinking alcohol as soon as I knew I would not resume smoking. Best regards, RA1 Quote
