Guest PattayaPlayers Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Open Audition Calls Pattaya Players (home of Pattaya's Professional Amateurs) is currently posting open audition calls for actors interested in performing in their upcoming Halloween and Christmas Productions. The Christmas audition will take place at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 10th at The Cavanaugh Community Center. If you are interested in the Halloween audition, please email pattayaplayers@gmail.com for further details. The Halloween event will be a Haunted Ghost Tour entitled, "Path Of Phantoms, Poltergeists and Pagans" and was written by a local Pattaya resident who will also direct the production. A meeting date will soon be announced for people interested in being tour guides and live-action ghosts. In addition to the tour, there will be a myriad of Halloween games for children, plus plenty of food and drink for all! More details regarding the event will be released in the coming weeks. The Christmas production will be a a British comedy entitled, "A Dickens' Christmas Carol" written by Mark Landon Smith. This traveling travesty in two tumultuous acts centers around The Styckes Upon Thump Repertory Company who embarks on their fifteenth annual tour of the Dickens classic. When the company's diva feigns illness, certain the production will be canceled, this merry troupe of over the hill and upstart actors carry on without her. Roles are shuffled and the sweet understudy suddenly finds herself on stage knowing only one line of dialogue. She has written her part in and on almost everything, including the Christmas pudding! Midway through the doomed performance, the diva rushes in to reclaim her role. Total mayhem ensues as the company scrambles to keep the show going while everything goes hilariously wrong! If you are interested in trying out for either of these productions or are interested in providing back-stage help or production support -- please plan on attending the christmas audition and/or email us regarding the Halloween production! The Pattaya Players still continue to seek corporate and private sponsors to help offset their current set-up costs. Guest fountainhall Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I am curious about the sub-title "professional amateurs" Surely one is either professional (i.e. paid for ones work) or amateur? Quote
