Guest lurkerspeaks Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Way back in the day, the baths were a place where men could meet up discreetly to have anonymous sex. The creation of the internet has lead to a big decline in the bathhouse attendance over the years. Instant apps like Grindr, Scruff, Jack'd, etc has further lead to the decline of bathhouses. But now, we are hearing more and more the reports of people being beat, raped, and killed after meeting up with someone from one of the "instant apps". Guys are meeting up with people they know nothing of, in random, secluded places and quite frankly, anything can happen. At least in bathhouses, people are required to "register". You are around other people. So I would love to get a discussion going as to whether you think we should "return" to bathhouses as a safety measure or if we should just continue blindly meeting complete strangers with no safety net? Most of the "younger" generation never had the opportunity to experience the heyday of bathhouse glory.. Back when, on a good night, there would be a hundred or more guys all in one place, looking for one thing. So, now talk amongst yourselves.... Quote
