Members wayout Posted June 22, 2014 Members Posted June 22, 2014 Ever since someone posted a thread about Collabro on Britain's Got Talent, which I thoroughly loved, I started looking for other discoveries that I would like. I don't really watch any of the singing/talent shows so there are probably many great ones still to be discovered, but I stumbled across this one that I just had to share as I think it is pretty great. It is from The Voice in Australia from 2013. It is fairly long so you can skip ahead some to get to the actual audition, around the 2:50 mark. Sorry hito, but I have dibs on him for my son That smile just gets to me TotallyOz, Theolover and lookin 3 Quote
Members BigK Posted June 24, 2014 Members Posted June 24, 2014 I don't watch these shows either but this guy really moved me. It doesn't hurt that he is so boyishly handsome. But overcoming his stutter is nothing short of amazing. I don't understand how he can sing like that when it seems to take him so much effort to control his stutter. I wondered if he could be faking the stutter, but given the back story footage that seems unlikely (although I understand that there isn't much TV producers wouldn't do). Hope he continues to do well. wayout 1 Quote
Members MsGuy Posted June 24, 2014 Members Posted June 24, 2014 Many folks with a stutter can sing w/o any problem. Theory has it that when one is singing the brain recruits different &/or additional circuits than when one is speaking and this recruitment eliminates the stutter. It's not so much that the guy controls his stutter better while singing as he doesn't have a stutter to control when he sings. wayout, RA1 and lookin 3 Quote
