TotallyOz Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 American has lost one of the true artists. I remember reading I know Why the Caged Bird Sings back in undergrad school with a class full of females. I was the only male. It was my first introduction to her work and I have loved reading her works for 20 years. I also loved listening to her. What an incredible voice. I read and taught her first memoir and continued to read and admire years later! ...heard her speak at two conventions of the California Association of Teachers of English. ...was enamored the first time and disappointed the second time. As my being on the Board, I know the fee which she received which I thought was too, too exorbitant, but in spite of this, she was one of my favorite authors and individual! Quote

Many of the people they cover have led extraordinary lives. Quote
