TotallyOz Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 One of my boyspecial's mothers sent us a box of food she had cooked and it was delivered via postal service today. She sent it because she wanted her son to have some home cooking and wanted me to try some of their local cuisine. First, I am leery to eat anything that is not from a reliable place. Second, I don't like eating something new to me. Third, I just don't want to try it all. Am I obliged to try it? Or, can I weasel out of it easily? Quote

Guest buaseng Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Third, I just don't want to try it all. Am I obliged to try it? Or, can I weasel out of it easily? Suggest you try to eat some of it or at least sample the food, even if you then admit that it doesn't suit you. Otherwise, it could be construed by the b/s and his mother as a slight on them and make them think they have lost face (highly important to a Thai). But TIT, Up2U ! p/s It can't be as bad as some of the creepie-crawlies which the Issan folks seem to like for food, or maybe it can ! Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 You could also ask what's in it. Then, when the boy tells you, you can always say that you're allergic to one of the ingredients. Quote
