Tastes great, less filling: Miller Lite commercial from the mid-80s with a lot of personalities of that era.

This is no slur on the thread or topic at all. But I must say most of these things remind me why I endeavored, by whatever means at hand, to be in a walking coma through as much of that decade as possible.

Agreed. The 80s was viewed as a bit of a musical desert. I remember being glued to MTV in the early 80s. Sting stands out, but few others. There were some great British bands--at least they seemed great at the time. I guess technology invaded the pop scene, which created some exciting bands--and could hit faults.
