Well, PR2K. If the higher prices for lodging cause you not to visit Rio de Janeiro either now or during the World Cup, you most definitely (sounding for than a bit RainManish at the monent), most definitely cannot afford the charges that these models would be charging for extracuricular work.

I can confirm what Ihpguy wrote. I was introduced by a mutual friend to one model and he has introduced me to others. The encounters with one exception have only been outside Brazil, so I've no idea what they would expect 'at home'. But in Europe, when they had time free from work, the dates (with dinner and drinks) were certainly not cheap but they were worthwhile.

I want to avoid Rio this year primarily because of the craziness and filth and masses of drunk tourists associated with the Copa. Rio is going to ruin itself with the Copa and the Olympics and possibly never recover; it's happened to other cities that have hosted the Olympics at least. I always knew it would change Rio for the worse when it happened, but at least I got to see it last year.

I'd be willing to pay a high premium for at least a couple of those boys, afford it or not. When it's your only sexual option, price becomes very relative question.

There are exactly 7 games being played in Rio de Janeiro during World Cup. If Copacabana can survive Reveillon every year, Rio could survive the visit of Papa Francisco and the whatever number of Peregrines that where sleeping, eating peeing and shitting anywhere and everywhere during last year's WORLD YOUTH JOURNEY, Cariocas will be just fine with a month-long street party with a few hundred thousand visitors drinking tons of beer.

My fear is that lack of transportation options from one W.C. host city to another. It isn't easy to get from Cuiaba, Manaus or anywhere in the Northeast to Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo. I was just talking to a friend of mine who is a concierge at a hotel in Ipanema. His biggest surprise is the prices they are getting for hotel rooms in the coming months. Like 1200Reais/night!

IHPguy, the Olympics have permanently changed some cities that have hosted them, like Athens, and for the worst. Copa may be different, but I'd still want to avoid Rio during that time, for the same reason I avoid it now for Carnaval and a few other things. Many cariocas I know leave the city during those times, if they can.

If you have never experienced the exodus from Copa at 2, 3 and 4 in the morning after the fireworks...don't say another word. The Prefeitura is expert when it comes to handling masses of people.

This past winter during the World Youth Journey, one had to be here to witness the movement of multitudes of people all over the metro area for planned events in every corner of the metro region. The biggest problem was the flooded field in Guaratiba that had been recently cleared but not ready for that kind of concentration of celebration. Giant mudbath even before the start of the day's mass. So quickly everything was efficiently moved to the beach in Copa.
