Guest lurkerspeaks Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 You beat me to the punch, Townie. Good news is that she did veto the bill. Bad news is that she (more than likely) did it for the wrong reason--for the $$. Quote
TotallyOz Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Is Arizona ape shit crazy for electing her and the legislature? I am really just curious. I know it is a conservative place but Phoenix is a very amazing city and gay pride is great and they have the best porn convention around. So, how is it possible to have so many nuts in office there? Don't forget our infamous Sheriff Joe. Unfortunately, the elder, conservatives in the state vote. The younger, more liberal residents do not vote. Apathy of youth.. Quote

AdamSmith Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Bad news is that she (more than likely) did it for the wrong reason--for the $$. But then, where in the U.S. today do we have anything besides the best government money can buy? At least she didn't ascribe her veto solely to avoiding harm to business, but did use the words "non-discrimination" and "respect and understanding among all." Quote
Members MsGuy Posted February 27, 2014 Members Posted February 27, 2014 At least she didn't ascribe her veto solely to avoiding harm to business, but did use the words "non-discrimination" and "respect and understanding among all." Sounds so much nicer than the truth: "Well the religious crazies were gnawing at my right tit and the tourist lobby was gnawing at my left. I was squirming like hell but then the NFL stuck hot needles through my nips * and I saw the light." * The NFL commissioner allowed as how he would reserve judgement on moving next year's Super Bowl from Arizona until the matter was resolved. (The NFL cancelled a prior Super Bowl in Arizona when it refused to recognize Martin Luther King Day as a state holiday.) AdamSmith and lookin 2 Quote
Members boiworship Posted February 27, 2014 Members Posted February 27, 2014 There is also a huge LDS population, especially in the Phoenix met to area (Mesa, etc.) and a large cohort of Southern California émigrés who tended to be quite conservative both religiously and socially. Both of the us senators are more moderate. Quote

Bad news is that she (more than likely) did it for the wrong reason--for the $$. My dear, if things weren't done for that reason, hardly anything would get done at all. (Including the hiring of escorts.) Quote
Members RA1 Posted February 27, 2014 Members Posted February 27, 2014 I think the escorts would still do it, just not with us. Best regards, RA1 MsGuy and AdamSmith 2 Quote
