Guest gwm4sian Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Café des Amis is a newly opened French restaurant/bistro on Thappraya Rd Soi 9, just on the corner by Sansook Sauna, halfway between Jomtien and Pattaya Not gay, but certainly gay friendly. B/F and I were made to feel very welcome. Small but well chosen and well thought out menu, reasonably priced. A main course and dessert will come to about 600 baht a head - tax included in the menu price, but no service charge. The food quality was very good, I had a delicious Lamb Shank with excellent Dauphinois potatoes, and the mashed potatoes that B/F had with his steak were the best I have ever tasted in Pattaya. The Crème Brulée for dessert had the brulée part done while we waited - a very pleasant change from pre-prepared desserts. The restaurant itself is set in an old style Thai house, quite small and intimate, but not crowded. They did not appear to offer any Thai food options on the menu. Well recommended - would be interested to hear if others agree with me. (Disclaimer - I have no financial interest in this or any other restaurant) Quote

Guest richsilver Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Thank you very much. I'm certainly looking forward to giving it a try. Tried it last night with three friends and we all liked it very much. I'm sure it will become a regular with our group! Quote
