TotallyOz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 A group of us wanted to celebrate the birthday of a friend. He wanted to go to Café New Orleans in Boyztown area so that is where we went. There were about 10 of us and we split the bill and picked up the tab for the Birthday guy. The restaurant is located in the center of Boyztown between BoyzBoyzBoyz and Pattayaland Soi 1 and 2. It is actually almost right across from the back area of BoyzBoyzBoyz and on the same street as Panarama. The place is well decorated and clean. The waiters are attentive and all speak English. The manager was on duty and oversaw everything for us. We had a very easy time ordering and having our questions answered. The staff was friendly and helpful without being pushy and overbearing. They continued this throughout the meal. Most of us had the ribs but some had the Salmon. I had the ribs which tasted great and a baked potato. Most of the men had drinks like Margaritas or Corona. I had a diet coke. The drinks were plentiful and many ordered 2 or 3 drinks. The staff added 10 percent service charge onto the tab so the total for 10 of us was 8800 bath. That was almost 900 baht per head. I thought it was a good meal and I had an enjoyable time and for 900 baht, I would have enjoyed a desert but decided that splurging on the BBQ and bread was enough for me. I did taste the cake for the Birthday guy and it was good. The staff brought it out for us at end end and it was a nice touch to a nice meal. I have eaten here many times and the food is reliable and tasty. I also tasted the Gumbo which was enjoyable but being from the deep South, it did not taste like real Gumbo as the spices were not there but it did taste good. I also tasted the Salmon and it was delightful as well. I was glad I ordered the Ribs as it really was a wonderful treat for me. The restaurant is well worth a visit from anyone with time to spare and wanting a nice meal in Pattaya. Plus, with the area full of hot guys, the window watching is easy and ever so enjoyable. Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Also, the Pattaya Vegetarian Club meets at Café New Orleans, of all places, on the second Tuesday of every month. The group meets upstairs and provides a wonderful all-vegetarian buffet. It's a grand total of 99 baht for it. It's been about a year since I last went, so the price may have increased by now. I don't know. You do not have to be a member, but you do have to go to Café New Orleans and buy your ticket in advance. The dinner always starts at 6:00 PM. If you are interested I suggest getting your ticket well in advance. The tickets always get sold out quickly. Quote
