TotallyOz Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I have a lot to read before I kick the bucket. But, I have made it to 42 of them. How about you? http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=8192263011 JKane 1 Quote
Members wayout Posted February 7, 2014 Members Posted February 7, 2014 Just make sure you stop at 99 Does seeing the movie version count? If not, then I am only at 33. TotallyOz 1 Quote
AdamSmith Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Only 23. Hmmph! But then, any list that starts with To Kill a Mockingbird... "It's interesting that all the folks that are buying it don't know they are reading a children's book." -- Flannery O'Connor TotallyOz 1 Quote
Members JKane Posted February 7, 2014 Members Posted February 7, 2014 Looks like a good list, has at least one of my all-time favorites. Wish there was a massively discounted 'buy all' option! TotallyOz 1 Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Well they forgot the Bible? Maybe it's given. Quote
Guest CharliePS Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Only 27 (and To Kill a Mockingbird is not one of them). Quote
Guest CharliePS Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 The key here is "Amazon Releases." There is no Shakespeare, Homer, Dante, Ben Franklin, George Eliot, etc., no poetry, and not a single work by an Asian writer who doesn't write in English. And, I might point out, there is nothing here that could be classified in any way as gay literature or literature about homosexuality (there is a gay subtext to In Cold Blood, the only listed book by a clearly gay writer). Members RA1 Posted February 7, 2014 Members Posted February 7, 2014 I, too, was wondering about such as GDP. Best regards, RA1 Quote
Members MsGuy Posted February 7, 2014 Members Posted February 7, 2014 42 for me too, if I can count Little House On The Prairie being read aloud to the class by my third grade teacher, one chapter at a time, one day a week. I loved it. I still can remember the anticipation of waiting for the next chapter. Damned TV show just didn't measure up to the memory. TotallyOz 1 Quote
