Only 23. Hmmph!

But then, any list that starts with To Kill a Mockingbird...

Well they forgot the Bible? Maybe it's given.

Only 27 (and To Kill a Mockingbird is not one of them).

The key here is "Amazon Releases." There is no Shakespeare, Homer, Dante, Ben Franklin, George Eliot, etc., no poetry, and not a single work by an Asian writer who doesn't write in English. And, I might point out, there is nothing here that could be classified in any way as gay literature or literature about homosexuality (there is a gay subtext to In Cold Blood, the only listed book by a clearly gay writer).

I, too, was wondering about such as GDP.

42 for me too, if I can count Little House On The Prairie being read aloud to the class by my third grade teacher, one chapter at a time, one day a week.

I loved it. I still can remember the anticipation of waiting for the next chapter. Damned TV show just didn't measure up to the memory.
