Message from GayPattayan

This is GayPattayan's message to his Yahoo Group.

As GayPattayan, I have been active in the gay community in Pattaya for

about 15 years now, and have found the scene to be one of great

vitality and good graces. We have an absolutely astounding (and

extremely successful) Pattaya Gay Festival which has raised millions

of baht to support the efforts to contain the threat of AIDS and HIV

infection in the gay community, and to promote community awareness.

The Pattaya Gay Festival has had such incredible success it is hard to

believe how it can keep being more successful year after year. Some

truly fine people are behind that organization, and make it what I

would think is one of the most successful gay community support

functions ever. I hope the community continues its support.

I am now recommending that this group, GayPattayanGroup of

yahoogroups.com be formally discontinued. Wally and Printer Graham

who have come up with a tremendously successful PG Weekly Report

provides all the information available on what is going on in the gay

community in Pattaya and Bangkok, and when called to their attention,

in any other area of Thailand. The PG Weekly Report is on line each

Wednesday at http://www.pgreport.com and provides some great

photography and a fine report on what has happened and what is due to

happen in the next week or so. I regret that I cannot reasonably

produce a Weekly Report on Thailand any longer on any reasonably

reliable basis, and I regret that my physical condition, though

markedly improved from December 2006 remains at least somewhat

"fragile" and militates that I not undertake too much on my own.

My sincere thanks to all who have supported the Gay Pattayan Weekly

Report on Thailand over the past many years, and I wholeheartedly urge

that you rely on the "successor", http://www.pgreport.com which is a

work under way throughout the week, with publication each Tuesday

night or Wednesday morning. -- Allen (G.P.)

The First Message:

Hi, Guys,

It is with a great deal of regret that I must advise you that those of

us who have been trying to head up the Weekly Report on Pattaya have

decided that it is time to cease our efforts and put all efforts into

the "locally produced but internationally available" "PG Weekly

Report" published by Wally and Graham since the serious illness of

GayPattayan in December, 2006. We have tried to keep some semblance

of a weekly report going, and the PG Report found at

http://www.pgreport.com each week is the best answer.

Printer Graham and Wally have recommended that all attempts to keep

the GayPattayanGroup weekly report going be abandoned, and that we

request that the group be closed down.

Although I personally (GayPattayan) am now back at work for the most

part, I still have many problems resulting from the brain trauma of

December, 2006, and I have been unable (to some extent unaware of)

some of the problems that have arisen. I therefore join with Wally

and Printer Graham in advising that the Gay Pattayan Group on

yahoogroups.com be terminated.

I note from seeing some of the detail of the last couple of months

that the weekly report has been "bounced" more often than published,

and this has led to additional confusion.

For all these reasons, I, as the founder of the GayPattayanGroup, am

now recommending that the group be formally dissolved. I apologize

that some messages to me have apparently gone unanswered, messages

that I never was aware of until today, for the most part.

Please check out the PG Weekly Report each Wednesday at

http://www.pgreport.com . It has very complete coverage on most issues

of gay concern in the Bangkok and Pattaya areas of Thailand.

Printer Graham and Wally, the producers of the PG Report, do a

remarkable job of gathering information and posting it currently to

keep anyone interested in events fully informed.

Thank you for your support of the PattayaGay Report over the past many

years. "Gay Pattayan" (Allen), Wally and Graham all continue to be

active in the gay community in Pattaya and will be pleased to answer

any questions addressed to them.

In conclusion, Wally advises as follows:

"1. Graham and I happy to continue to produce and publish the PG

Weekly Report on www.pgreport.com "

"2. We are NOT INTERESTED in GayPattayan Yahoo Groups."

Accordingly, I, "GayPattayan", as the founder of the GayPattayanGroup

on yahoogroups.com will be requesting that the GayPattayanGroup be

formally disbanded and taken down.

I thank you for all your support over the years.
