Rio is no different than any other city in the world, if you can hookup with guys in whatever city you

It depends on your expectations. It also depends on you.

I am currently in Brazil on my 113th trip here.

Needless to say, I like Brazil a lot.

I personally like guys a lot younger than I but I like "butch" guys. If I were into guys that like older guys, I would not have any time left for myself as I would be on a non stop date. I frequently decline dates from younger guys. However, the guys that ask me for a date are usually too effeminate for me. Therefore I stick to the saunas and other places where I can pick and choose the guy I want. Of course, this costs money.

On occasion I accompany Brazilian friends to dances that cater to gays. There is no age restrictions at the dances. Believe it or not, there really are younger guys who like older guys. These younger guys are not hustlers and get insulted if you offer them money. The younger guys have zero interest in guys near their own age. Again, these younger guys are usually effeminate.

If you are looking to hook up with a younger guy, there are numerous gay saunas where younger guys hunt older guys without expecting money. Again, the younger guy will be the "delicate" or effeminate guy, most of the time.

As to needing a guide on your first rip, that depends on you. If you are adventuresome and do not fear new places, you might want to (as was already suggested) find out when other Americans (preferably from this site) will be in Brazil. If you were to "tag along" with some knowledgeable Americans, there is no need for a guide.

Just my two cents worth.

By the way, enjoy your first trip to Brazil. After you have been to Brazil, I predict that you will likely return again and again and again.

Aside from Sundays or Saturdays on beach days you won't find many people at To Nem Ai that early (and even on beach days before 6 pm is too early). It's also difficult to find escorts there if that's what you're looking for. They do go there, but often with clients, or when they're not working. I haven't heard of waiters doing this, but I suppose it's possible.

Trzinko, Parisrio2000 is right about ToNemAi, and the one thing ToNemAi lacks is attractive waiters! but I have picked up guys there after 11:00 at night but it is not a hustler bar, it is a regular gay bar where there is always a large group of guys standing on the sidewalk and street outside smoking. Remember that it was in Porto Alegre where the waiter introduced me to his friend and I have known that waiter for 5 years!

On a Sunny Sat. or Sunday, ToNemAi gets busy starting at about 4:00 to 5:00 pm as the beach crowd starts leaving, during the week it's after 9;00 when it starts getting busy.

I have known Diego over the past two years and have seen him maybe 6 or 8 times during that two year period. I have never known him to have a particular client so can't answer that. this past year he stopped working saunas for awhile when he was trying to make it as a gogo boy/stripper at the straight and gay clubs. As to what he will do as I have stated before guys will do some things with one client and not with another so I hate to say He will do this or do that...saying that I will say He is more top then bttm, kisses well, cums kinda quick, very quiet subdued personality, but friendly when you get to know him.

I think it's probably evident that I don't have a "type". I like twinks/gymnast types/normal guys/swimmer/and nice toned bodies, but there are exceptions to all of those if the guy has a face/personality I like. I have done big muscled guys but generally not my first preference.
