Members RA1 Posted November 1, 2013 Members Posted November 1, 2013 Assuming the author is correct, when was the last time there was world wide agreement and action on any topic? Pols in particular and people in general are likely to agree upon something so long as someone else does it/pays for it. Best regards, RA1 Quote
Members MsGuy Posted November 1, 2013 Members Posted November 1, 2013 Basically there are two reasons we can't quit burning fossil fuels: 1. A shit pot load of folks find nuclear power plants scary, and 2. We're kinda addicted to eating more than a starvation level diet, having the lights come on when it's dark, the air conditioner work when it's hot and being able to travel places at more than 4 miles per hour. Oh, and we haven't even started to discuss the true cost of green power. Like the Easter Islanders who cut down all their trees, and then starved for lack of timber for canoes, we'll keep doing whatever is most convenient...until it isn't. Quote
