Aspirin and Cheap Pharmacies?

Recommended Posts

Aspirin seems quite expensive in the small Pattaya pharmacies compared to the Duane Reades in New York.

Are there any mega pharmacies or pharmacies within super stores in Pattaya with low prices on over the counter drugs?

I have noticed that in Thailand, where with no prescription one can visit a drugstore and purchase enough antibiotics to render half the bacteria on earth resistant, it is difficult to find ibuprofen. When found, each tablet will be individually wrapped, and ridiculously expensive. In other countries you can buy bottles of 500 inexpensively. If you have to ask about the price of vitamins, you can’t afford them.

Can you say skullduggery?

I have not seen them here myself. When I come over I always bring Tylenol PM as I can't seem to find it here and life without it is unbearable. :)

I don't know about Tylenol PM, but regular Tylenol is available. For aspirin, you may want to try Fascino on Pattaya Nua (North Road) - coming from Sukhumvit, it is a short distance past 3rd road on the left. This is a large pharmacy and they also sell medical equipment (wheel chairs, etc.). I buy 300mg coated aspirin there - if I recall correctly, it is about one half Baht per tablet (the same tablets at the Foodland pharmacy were about 2 Baht per tablet, as I recall).

I agree. Fascino is a reliable pharmacy that isn't going to give you counterfeit pharmaceuticals. There is another Fascino pharmacy, a small outlet, located in the small Lotus store, east of Sukhumvit Highway. If you know where the Bangkok Bank is on Sukhumvit, just north of Central Road (Pattaya Klang), simply enter the soi that leads to the parking lot, but keep going. It takes you right to the Lotus.

When you go to Fascino, ask for their membership card. It's free and with it you get a 10% discount on meds.

Nobody's yet mentioned Boots, a very reliable UK pharmacy, which has several branches dotted about Pattaya. I think the largest branch is in the Royal Garden Plaza through McDonalds up on the 1st floor-Beach Road-Central Pattaya.

Though there is a smaller branch in Tesco Lotus on North Pattaya Road, practically opposite Fascino Health and Beauty store. You could compare prices.Practically everyone in the UK buys their drugs from Boots so again, its highly unlikely you'll get counterfeit stuff from them which you might at a smaller pharmacy.

Astrrro - not sure if you want aspirin for pain relief or for its blood thinning properties, but Boots in Bangkok has Tylenol in both small packs and huge ones that look as though they have 500 tablets. Haven't seen Tylenol PM though.
