Gay Paris Bars

1 Café Cox | 15 Rue des Archives, 75004 | 01 42 72 08 00 | http://www.cox.fr/

With a name like that, how could we not put it at the top of our list? With a constantly changing décor and guest DJ roster, the older leather crowd does have some young things scattered here and there, and it's practically an institution in the Marais so put it on your agenda.

2 Sly | 22 Rue des Lombards, 75004 | 06 62 84 64 61 | http://www.sly-bar.com/

A mixed gay crowd leaning towards the younger demographic, but all ages and kinds of gay come here to play. Thursday happy hours include a bracelet that signifies your relationship status, making flirting a whole lot more efficient.

3 Banana Café | 13 Rue de la Ferronnerie, 75001 | 01 42 33 35 31 | http://www.bananacafeparis.com/

Another fantastically named place, it may look like your run-of-the-mill gay bar at first but come a bit later, and head downstairs for the real action: drag shows, smokin'-hot go-go boys, and themed nights that include the non-PC Oriental Session, with an Arab theme.

4 Le CUD Bar | 12 Rue des Haudriettes, 75003 | 01 42 77 44 12 | http://cud-paris.com/

This is another bar where the upstairs is good for a chat, but the real action is down below. There is a lot more cruising at this bar than some others on our list, and skews a bit younger as well although, this being Paris, you will find some heteros in the mix. Don't go before 2am.

5 One Way | 28 Rue Charlot, 75003 | 01 48 87 46 10 | http://www.oneway-paris.com/site/

Once again, a bar with a fun downstairs level. So make your way past the leather hat-studded ceiling and head down to the dungeon-style basement, where there is a sex swing, videos, and a dark room with a smoking section. Bears love it, and leather daddies abound.

6 Quetzal Bar | 10 Rue de la Verrerie, 75004 | 01 48 87 99 07 | no website

Everyone at some point or another makes their way to and through Quetzal, so make sure to at least cruise on by when you're out and about. It a cruise-y atmosphere, but there are plenty of people just hanging out and chatting as well, and plenty of them are young and HOT.

7 La Mine | 20 Rue du Plâtre, 75004 | 01 42 71 30 39 | http://www.bar-mine.fr/

This leather and fetish bar has many theme nights, from rubber to uniforms - so check their website to make sure you're dressed appropriately. Otherwise, it's yet one more place that has a traditional bar up top and tons of action down below.

8 Le Raidd | 23 Rue du Temple, 75004 | 01 92 77 09 88 | http://www.raiddbar.com/

This is a bar, not a club, although that's because of its size more than anything. The big draw here, other than the DJ, is the shower. Yes, the shower go-go boys soap up and get down in a hot, steamy shower as the main entertainment here. There are also fun theme nights and plenty of cruising to go around.

9 Café Moustache | 138 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin, 75010 | http://cafe.moustache.free.fr/

We don't know what's up with these bars that pass as traditional cafes, but here's another one. It even has quaint terrace seating out front! But inside there is a dark room, video room, private cabins, and all your other cruising needs.

10 La Bonne Nouvelle | 4 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75010 | no number | no website

Tired of the super-gay Marais? Just want a drink at a gay bar without the thumping bass? Head to La Bonne Nouvelle, where everyone is just chilling out and also happen to be gay. The chatty crowd are definitely checking each other out, but everyone's friendly and chatty. A lot of fun.

11 Krash | 12 Rue Simon le Franc, 75004 | 09 50 41 13 26 | http://www.krashbar.com/

This sex bar has a Saturday night Naked Night that is not to be missed! Sundays are underwear nights, and Mondays are free-for-alls.

Gay Paris Clubs

1 Le Queen | 102 Champs-Élysées, 75008 | 01 53 89 08 90 | http://queen.fr/

There are some girls here straight girls but make no mistake, this is a gay bar through and through, with some of the hottest guys you'll ever see grinding away to the DJ's beats. Stay on the balcony level to do your scoping, then head down to the dance floor to get in on the insane action. Overkitsch on Sundays is the party to be at.

2 Tango: La Boîte à Frissons | 13 Rue au Maire, 75003 | 01 42 72 17 78 | http://www.boite-a-frissons.fr/home_en.htm

A different take on a gay night, this Saturday party brings out gays and lesbians for ballroom dancing, followed by a regular dance party. It's a great space, and quite a spectacle to see; if you want to take a break from cruising bars, this is the place to go.

3 Scream | 18 Rue du Faubourg du Temple, 75011 | no number | http://www.scream-paris.com/

Another Saturday night party, this time in a massive, three-story space, each level with a different vibe:

serious dancing with a top DJ; pop music, fun and chatty; and a dark room for the real action. There's also an outdoor terrace for when you need to catch your breath.

4 Le Dépot | 10 Rue aux Ours, 75003 | 01.44.54.96.96 | http://www.ledepot-paris.com/index_site.php

Unlike some of the other listings, this is a hardcore gay cruising club that is open from 2pm to 8am, so you don't have to wait until the sun goes down to get your cruise on. Every conceivable kind of gay, with every conceivable kind of desire, can be found here.

5 Full Metal | 40 Rue des Blancs Manteaux, 75004 | no number | http://www.fullmetal.fr/02_presentation.swf

Full Metal bills itself as a Hard Cruising Tavern, which is exactly 100% correct. Check their website for theme nights, as there is a pretty strict admission policy. Inside you'll find a steel and concrete décor, with the action just as hard and masculine. Plenty of cruising hallways, back rooms, and even a sex swing in the two-level basement.

6 Impact | 18 Rue Grenata, 75002 | 01.42.21.94.24 | http://impact-bar.com/GAY-FR/index.php

Nudie bar! Some nights they let you keep your pants on after a certain hour, but once you've got your clothes off, don't bother you'll be sucking and fucking too much to care. Come ready, and come often.

7 Club 18 | 18 Rue de Beaujolais, 75001 | 01 42 97 52 13 | http://www.club18.fr/

Unfortunately the 18 is the address and not the age, but you'll still find plenty of pretty young things. This is the club you want to go to if you're tired of the loud techno and flashing lights; it's more intimate, but no less dance-y, and everybody comes for a good time.

8 Folies Pigalle: BBB Black Blanc Beur | varying locations | http://www.kelma.org//PAGES/B.B.B/soiree_gay_bbb.php

This is a weekly party that brings out the glorious men of color, and the paler amongst us who adore them. There is all kinds of music played, and go-go boys to get your heart racing. If you like 'em mocha, this is the party for you.

9 Le Divan du Monde: Beardrop | 75 Rue des Martyrs, 75018 | no number | http://www.beardrop.fr/index.html

This Friday night party brings out bears from all over Europe for a fun night with a heaving dance floor and plenty of hot, hairy action. Check the website, or ask around when you're there, for other bear weekend plans that pop up.

10 Club 79: Under | 22 Rue Quentin-Bauchart, 75008 | no number | http://www.fluidparty.com/

Although they do have some Saturday parties, the main focus of Under is the morning hours of Sunday usually starting at 10AM for those who aren't ready to call it a night. But this is no brunch scene you'll hardly know it's daytime, with the dark space lit by lasers and the guest DJ whipping the still-up crowd into a frenzy.

This is a massive facility that has actual an actual gym and sauna, as well as a porn room and other little alcoves for pleasure. This is where a lot of the gay club kids come for fun and relaxation, FYI, so it's quite a scene.

Gay Paris Restaurants

1 Who's Paris | 14 Rue Saint-Merri, 75004 | 01 42 72 75 97 | http://www.whosparis.com/

This is a legit restaurant, and even serves the increasingly popular brunch on Saturdays. But at night it becomes a pretty fabulous gay bar scene, so don't rush out after you've finished your meal, particularly on Fridays, when it hosts a Wild Party (as it's called).

2 Le Gai Moulin | 10 Rue Saint-Merri, 75004 | 01 48 87 06 00 | http://www.le-gai-moulin.com/

This gay-owned restaurant has gay in its name and gays at the tables, who come not only to hang out but to scarf up the classics for relatively cheap, given the gayborhood. You could easily make a meal out of the starters, which include onion soup!

3 Open Cafe | 40 Rue Vieille du Temple, 75004 |

4 L'Ange 20 | 8 Rue Geoffroy lAngevin, 75004 | 01 40279367 | http://www.lange20.com/lange20/Accueil.html

This cute little place in the Marais is super gay-friendly and serves up the traditional French cuisine you've been craving. Get the duck cooked two ways, it's a winner, but leave room for the caramelized apple to finish.

5 Villa Keops | 58 Boulevard de Sébastopol, 75004 |

Between Villa Keops, Le Dépot and Sun City Sauna, you can literally come to Paris and never leave this block.

Gay Paris Activities

1 Bunker | 150 Rue Saint-Maur, 75018 | 01 53360116 | http://www.bunker-cruising.com/

Leather, latex, denim, sport, underwear and naked nights are the scenes at this cruising bar. They have sex swings, dark rooms, video rooms, and even lockers and showers for cleaning up after getting deliciously dirty.

2 Le Keller | 14 Rue Keller, 75011 | no number | http://www.lekeller.com/

NOTE that you MUST register BEFORE heading to this hard cruising club. You'll also have to abide by their dress codes for your particular fetish/look, as well as when there are open dress code nights (e.g., no sneakers). While it may seem like a hassle, it's worth it there is some serious action going down here.

3 Steel Club | 23 Rue de Penthièvre, 75008 | 01 45 61 90 28 | http://www.steel-club.fr/

This cruising club has no dress code, thankfully, although it barely matters you'll be naked and fucking in no time. There are lockers, cabins, the now-ubiquitous sex swing, glory holes, and everything else you'd need to have a gay old time.

4 Boxxman | 2 Rue de la Cossonnerie, 75002 | 01 42214702 | http://www.boxxman.net/

A gay store for all your gay needs, from porn DVDs to cock rings to lube. Downstairs there's a pretty hard cruising scene in the late afternoon a true one-stop-shopping
