Gaybutton Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Is it just me, or does anyone else find all these piercings and tattoos very un-attractive? A small tattoo here and there and a pierced ear doesn't really bother me, but some of these boys have very large sets of tattoos and have everything that can be pierced, pierced. Pierced eyebrows, pierced noses, pierced tongues, pierced bellybuttons, pierced about halfway between the lower lip and chin. You name it, it's pierced. Do you find that attractive? Quote
Guest luvthai Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I detest the tatoos and most times avoid a boy that has them. I don't mind an ear being pierced but thats about all. I can't see why they have to mar thier heavenly bodies. Quote
fedssocr Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I assume its mainly a fad. I saw a ton of Thai kids at FAT Festival last year in BKK with all sorts of facial piercings. The lip piercing seemed to be especially popular. These were all middle-class teenagers. The tattoos may be more traditional. I don't want to play amateur psychologist too much, but it's also possible that the tattoos are a way to cover up. And all of those piercings and tattoos could be a self-esteem issue. Especially for boys whose job it is to parade around naked or nearly so for a bar full of strangers and then are expected to go off and have sex with all comers. Quote
Guest Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Do you find that attractive? Yes, and HELL YES. I love them. Love tattoos and love piercing. They turn me on. All of me ex's except for one had full back tattoos. I think if done well, they are sexy! I don't think this is the case. You will find just as many outside the bar scene as inside that have them. You will also have a hard time finding many gay NYC lads without at least one or two as well. Tattoos are fashionable and popular throughout many parts of the world and not just Thailand. On a recent trip to Los Angeles, there was a tat place on every corner. There are several TV shows based on tattoo parlors. Angelina Jolie has them as do many stars and celebs. They are here to stay and have little to do with low self-esteem and much more to do with expression of one's independence and creativity. IMHO Quote
Bob Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I personally don't like them at all but I suppose much of that attitude was instilled in my youth when anything different (or wore leather and rode a motorcycle) was definitely bad; regardless, not my cup of tea but I don't ever criticize them (and occasionally complement what appears to be one that's well done). If it's a only a fad, it's an infectious fad as every year I seem to notice more and more of them. Quote
Guest JoeM Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I can do without tattoos, piercings and braces. There is nothing more appealing than a natural looking young lad in his street clothes. But then…to each his own. Quote
Guest stef Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I don't like it very much. just not natural to me... Neither piercing of any kind... I just don't like it either... Few years ago , I was the casting director of a model agency back in the States, and one time I had to pick up a guy at the airport, and watching his photos he previously sent, I thought " Oh my god this guy is just horrible.. had tattoo's here and there , and one ear ring... I thought I wouldn't like him right away... Well he ended up being my boy friend for 3 years... So I guess I wouldn't want them but I would deal with it.. if it is just smalll and not covering most of the body... I have seen many Thai guys, with tattoo's all over the body and I find it horrible... disgusting.. Just NOT my taste... Glad other enjoy them.. Quote
Guest laurence Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Worse than the tattoo itself is the scaring of the skin. Like making love to an alligator . It creeps me out. Quote
