All Change In Boyztown

It is all happening in Boyztown, firstly it was announced that a lift would be installed in The Ambience Hotel, now I hear that Le Cafe Royale is also installing one, which is great news for us who are unable to negotiate the staircases, I used to like staying in the Penthouse above the old Throb/Splash, but gave up because of the stair issue, I now live here in Pattaya, so do not need the use of the Hotel, but I will certainly be informing my friends. Does anybody know when these will be installed? I should think it is quite a major (and expensive) job.

Also, I noticed that the old Throb/Splash bar is undergoing a major refurbishment, both inside and out, apparently it will be called The Copa, I hope they keep the dancers from the show, some of them are very sexy, particularly the one with the small goatee, delicious!

Thanks for the update. I stayed the hotels years ago but back then, they did not have high speed Internet. I hope that this is not the case now but also hope that the renovations will bring more services for those that want to stay connected while away.

Ambiance has high speed wireless that works pretty well. The Executive suite rooms also include a laptop for your use along with a printer as well. But of course you can use your own computer instead.

BBB did a major 'refurbishment' and moved the stage from the middle to the long side.

T&S (Copa?) will undergo major changes: the small bar at one of the entrances will be extended along the long wall with all the mirrors (opposite the pool). Seatings will be arranged faced to the new stage in front of the swimmingpool, so no more painful head turning: both shows from the same direction.

Just a loosely related topic for debate (perhaps  )

As the three major businesses in the Soi are in the process of refurbishment/modernisation maybe it is time they got together with the other gay (and non-gay??) business owners in Pattayaland Soi 3 and clubbed together to get the street drainage sorted out and the road resurfaced to stop the pools of copious rainwater collecting each time it rains. The Soi definately loses business after a thunderstorm has deposited it's thousands of gallons on the street!

I did mention this several years ago to Ian Read as he had made a comment that the City would not pay for such work because the Soi was "private". At the time he said the various business owners would not agree. OK there may be the odd business not willing to contribute but that is not a reason to let the situation stand or deteriorate still further - (perhaps if the majority agreed the others would be shamed into contributing - but hey, pigs might fly ;) )?

Certainly some of them lose customers when the Soi is flooded (particularly true when the area of the Soi outside Panaroma and Amor is flooded to several inches - I have observed prospective patrons for both establishments turning on their heels and retreating because of the deep puddles which have formed after a thunderstorm).

Well Buaseng, if the city council says that the Soi is "private"............great. Kick out all the motorbikes, build a roof over it and see: a nice new BoyzTown Gay Plaza is born. Of course the city council wouldn't allow this, because the Soi is "private".

Several years ago I was told by one of the owners that when maintenance was required the street was private. When they wished to control parking or use the street for a festival, etc. it was public.
